  1. Conflict with no Confrontation

I actually worked with this coworker for this first time since this happened the other night (not that I was trying to avoid her, it just worked out that way) and she said about 2 words to me all night. It was extremely awkward, especially consideri...
  2. Conflict with no Confrontation

I always figured homework would be an acceptable thing to do in my down time when all of the actual work to be done was done. It's far more productive then sitting there tidying up what's already been tidied up. There's only so much work to be done o...
  3. Conflict with no Confrontation

That's exactly what has happened here. I used to be overzealous and hop on every light that rang...until I realized I was answering every light without objection from the other aide. It started to get to be too much doing everyone's work and I've bee...
  4. Conflict with no Confrontation

See, that's how it's supposed to be where I work as well, but that isn't usually what happens. I could have 3 lights going off down my hall and she won't get up to help me. Never has for as long as I've been working with her. I will answer her lights...
  5. Conflict with no Confrontation

Pretty much. It's not uncommon for us to be on our phones when it's quiet. It's just an unspoken rule that we don't say anything and phones are away by 5am. She's just mad because I won't do her work for her. But when I tried to tell the ADON that it...
  6. Conflict with no Confrontation

*THIS IS GOING TO GET RANTY* I'm a CNA in a LTC/Rehab facility. I've been there for a little over a year with absolutely no disciplinary action taken against me for anything. I've never had so much as a complaint from someone working behind me about ...
  7. Are colors consistant across all brands of scrubs?

I have numerous sets of navy scrubs (I have no idea why, honestly) and for the most part, they're similar enough that you wouldn't really be able to tell they're different, but they're definitely different
  8. Do not order scrubs from scrubland beyond.com

I would say if you need a certain color ASAP, try to hit up Walmart, Burlington Coat Factory, or Forman Mills. I can usually find a cheap decent pair at one of those places for long enough to hold me over until I can get the ones I actually need. It ...
  9. What to do when u find an unresponsive patient

The patients nurse should have been running that code, not running around. They should have delegated someone to call the code, get the crash cart, so on and so on. Are you a nurse or an aide? In my facility (ltc and short stay rehab) aides have no ...
  10. you know you're a CNA when...

When you know "Hey can you give me hand" on 11p-7a means someone had an explosion and you instinctively grab everything needed for a bed change.
  11. My job is extremely helpful to those of us wanting to further our educations. I know at least 2 of our RNs have worked there through school and went from CNA to RN. We have 2 CNAs in nursing school right now and they're very flexible with their hours...
  12. Prior Medical Experience a Plus?

They require microbiology, english comp 1 and 2, a&p 1 and 2, intro to sociology, intro to psych, and a humanities elective to be able to graduate. They're integrated into the program sequence but can be done before you apply.
  13. Prior Medical Experience a Plus?

They are completed as corequisites, they get done within the 2 years of nursing classes. They can be done before but don't have to. They only thing that absolutely needs to be satisfied beforehand is the requirement needed to take A&P
  14. Prior Medical Experience a Plus?

Hi guys! So I've done some in depth research about the program I'm interested in and I realized that there actually are no prerequisites to the program (with the exception of the A&P prereq which I satisfied in high school). I'm worried that sin...
  15. CNA's - What hours do you work?

I work 11-7 mostly, sometimes 7-3. I much prefer the 7-3 shift because it flies by. In my LTC facility full time is considered 4 shifts a week so I work 4-5 days a week, with every other weekend off.
