Hi Everyone! I am sad to say that a few days ago I received a rejection letter...much to my surprise. I am sad because I wont have the chance to meet each of you. But I know we will see each other around in a hospital one day.

I will get in somewhere very very soon!

    Good luck!

Fingers crossed, Tx! Hopefully good news arrives in Saturday's mail. While waiting for their decision, I kept Googling to see if most schools sent out acceptances before rejections & couldn't find a solid answer, so it may be just an academic myth. Do you know if everything arrived in their offices by the deadline? I had one transcript come in a day late (I ordered it over two months prior) & it pushed my application to the next round, even though they told me over the phone it wouldn't be a problem. I got a waiver for the TEAS & even though all the grades from my first school were shown on the transcript from my graduating institution, they still needed the original school's paperwork, which was the late arrival.I think they have a third review date coming up, if anything in your application happened to go missing. Maybe call & check the status of your app on Monday, if you don't hear anything.
Hi Tabby, Yes, I sent everything in a packet to ensure no delays. It was sent on Feb 27 and received the 28th. I was waived the TEAS too and a letter confirming all materials were received and my application was complete. My transcripts were all official and included in my packet as well. So everything was in way ahead of second review. Hopefully I'll hear something today!

Yes, for 2012. I live about 15 minutes away from MU, but will probably be taking the Metro & shuttle bus from the Ballston station to commute, since the tour guide during my campus visit stressed how on-campus parking was at a premium.I'm sure you'll get in, TX, but I have total sympathy with your nerves. My application was really strong, but I was convinced I would be rejected. I had to turn down an acceptance offer from another ABSN program (in my home state of Ohio) two years ago, due to my pregnancy & was worried I had created horrible academic karma, lol.
I live in Silver Spring, MD about an hour via metro and 45 minutes by car. I will take the red line to metro center then transfer to thel ballston line too for commuting. Then I'll take the shuttle. Some days I have great feelings about getting in but day's like today when everyone is getting letters is REALLY nerve racking. But I have faith...I work in a hospital and been in school since starting this journey 2 years ago, when I quit my job in NJ and moved home to finish what I started in undergrad. I have a BA and MA in communication and worked in pharma pt education. I am now a CNA in Oncology/Cardiology PRN. I am finishing up my last course Chemistry and Nutrition, but is not needed at MU. But I really like it so definitely going to be beneficial as a nurse.I thought your post was in 2010, that's why I asked...definitely a good plan to postpone entrance till now! I also did the same thing more recently taking off a semester caring or my mom who's been waiting for a lung transplant. She is doing well but it even more solidified my nursing career. I really want to get in and get to know you more! Keep in touch and I'll definitely update you whichever way the cards go!

Congrats to everyone else who has gotten in!I'm the applicant TxPatients mentioned upthread, whose application was delayed by a late transcript. I'm local to the NoVa area & perhaps that played a part in when my acceptance letter arrived. Is everyone here attending MU in the fall, or are you debating between several programs? I was, but have decided on Marymount, given their proximity & transferring all of my prerequisite courses. Shenandoah University was a close second, but I would have needed to take another class over the summer.
I hope I get in and can share in thr excitement!! I am glad you chose Tabby_Cat. MU is the only school I applied thus far because of the Fall 2012 admission. I am done all pre-reqs and am waiting to finish up Chemistry having a B currently! Keep your fingers crossed...hoping for tomorrow's mail!

Oh no! This is not good....I haven't received any mail yet... I am wondering if I didn't get in then? Are you guys local or in a neighboring state to VA, DC or MD?

    Nope! How about you??
Nothing yet! Ugh....my anxiety is at an all time high...I'm going to get in, I'm not going to get in! Another person wrote on my post regarding Fall 2012 Cohort and said she received a packet yesterday!! I am wondering if she is local or out of state...she also was deferred to our committee review because her transcript was delayed, makes sense she heard first.

I originally applied for the first review deadline (Feb. 17th), but due to one of my transcripts not arriving on time, my application was considered during the second review (Mar. 23rd).The projected notification date was Apr. 20th but I received my acceptance letter yesterday, so about ten days ahead of schedule. According to a few people I've spoken with, they usually mail admissions decisions about two & a half weeks after the deadline.I received a packet of info (with a checklist, medical forms, a preliminary transfer credit evaluation, etc...) along with my acceptance letter. It came in a big envelope, with the words "You're in!" printed on the outside, leaving no doubt as to their decision.
    Did you mean for 2012?

Hi Tabby,I haven't received anything yet so I hope it is on its way!! I live 30 minutes away driving from MU! Soooooo nervous....if I don't get in then it's only because of space. I work as a CNA in a hospital and have previous work experience in pharma. I have a Masters degree and great recs and good grades in sciences. I hope I do also we can exchange info and maybe connect before classes start! CONGRATS, and keep your fingers crossed

I applied for the first review for the Fall 2012 ABSN. The deadline was Feb. 17th, with projected notification of March 9th. I got my letter in the mail on March 7th. The projected notification date for round #2 is April 20th. Hope you hear back soon! Good luck!
Hi Mqualk! I was curious did you receive just a letter or a packet of information too? It has been two years in the making and I am excited but nervous I get in at the same time

    Hi Pointe,

I heard yesterday via a letter in the mail - I'm sure yours will arrive soon!
Hi! I am waiting to hear from the second committee review and was curious do they send out just an acceptance letter or a full packet initially?

I am anxiously awaiting news and it should be any day now!

I would hope so @Laur! I have mine and included my license # on my resume. I also included experience in my essay. Does anyone know if the review has been completed?
