Are you sure this is legal? I may be overly shocked since I'm Canadian and this is unheard of, but it seems like something that would be illegal in any part of the modern world?

OSAP has RAP. Look into it. Your monthly payments will never be more than 20% of your income AFTER $1600 (what they expect you need to live off). Government kicks in the rest.

Hi there, Thanks for the reply. From what I read, I gather you have taken the Mohawk RPN to BScN program at McMaster then? This is the program information I was questioning. You say you were able to continue full-time work as an RPN, how many days a...
Hello, I'm in the process of deciding which offer of admission to accept. I'd like more information regarding Mohawk-McMaster's RPN to BScN program. I'm currently an RPN working part-time in the Niagara region. If I attend McMaster, I'd have to commu...

Leave Toronto. Far too many grads being pushed out over there competing for minimal jobs. Living costs have become ridiculous out there, too. Try Hamilton, Niagara, or the other direction like Barrie, further North. I find the further from Toronto yo...
The article is good, but it pertains to the US. I don't believe American LPN's are equal to Canada's RPN's. Last time I inquired about possible cross-border jobs, Canadian RPN's had a much wider scope of practice than an LPN.

Definitely not too old. Many of my classmates were in their mid to late 30s when I graduated last year. Nursing is a second career for many people. I have a couple of co-workers who are RPN's in their mid 40's who are back in school right now for the...

Even though I'm not convinced CNO has this type of power, I'd still never consider informing my employer of any mental health issues, if I was suffering from one. There's unfortunately still a very evident stigma surrounding mental illness so it's a ...

Can you be a little more specific? The CNO can investigate your own personal health issues? That's what I understood from your post, although it doesn't seem right.
Hi, Here in Ontario, and at the large regional health system I work for, RPNs in the OR work directly beside the surgeon(s). Much like their first-hand. You will hand them surgical instruments. It is an added skill, meaning you must take the OR cours...

Thanks for the info. They definitely didn't specify all of this when I inquired. Well, I guess I can cross Mac off of my list. I can't attend school full-time due to financial obligations which require me to at the very least maintain my regular part...
-I'm 24, and currently working as an RPN in Ontario (2012 grad) -Single, no children and currently living at home with my parents -Prior to enrolling in the RPN program, I took a couple semesters of a Health Sciences undergrad program -With that, pl...
If you are legitimately sick, I would not want you taking care of me or any of my family members. The problem is, many people abuse sick calls, so managers tend to assume you're doing the same. Just get a doctors note for peace of mind.
