  1. Anyone with a seizure disorder ?

A lurker popping in to say I know how you all feel. I graduated last year with a BSN in nursing and still suffering the occasional seizure. I struggle to control them mainly because I can't find a day/evening rotation that would make it so much easie...
  2. CRNE Scrapped Short Answer?

The letter in my package stated that the exam marks were based solely on the multiple choice. Short answer questions were not included in the marking. Not sure what they'll do after this October's exam, I'm just happy I don't have to take it again!

So soon?! Oh good! Now I'm nervous, haha.
  4. How was CRNE in JUNE / 6?

Already? I thought the results were going to arrive at mid-August at the earliest. Huh. I hope I passed - I don't want to go through that torture again!
  5. How was CRNE in JUNE / 6?

It was alright. It did test some nursing knowledge but there were some absolutely wacky questions on that perhaps less than one percent of the candidates must have gotten (one short answer one comes quickly to mind). It was one of those exams that y...
  6. Nursing and Epilepsy

I never knew there were so many nurses who had epilepsy. I've had it for 11 years, and it took a while to get control. I now work on a neurology unit (funny, I know). I have all my seizures within 30 minutes of waking, so I don't fear having one at w...
  7. How much clinical time do you get?

  8. I was shocked that they took it so far, some of the quotes were unbelievable. I believe the University President also made a statement after the medshow. I forgot to mention that future MedShows have been cancelled due to not only this skit but the c...
  9. I'm a nursing student at the University of Alberta and have many friends who are in the Medical program. I must tell you that many med students were shocked at the medshow that is put on by the "popular" crowd at the Medical School. The Dean was abso...
  10. First Foley!!!!!!!!!!

Congratulations! I did my first foley as well yesterday and it went a lot better than I ever expected it too. Funny how I spent the last 5 months freaking out about putting one in. :chuckle
  11. They just gave us the recommended textbook and each term they give us a booklet of practice questions. They also give a pretest so you get the gist of what the questions will be like, then you have two more chances to get 90% or you're out.
  12. Yep, I've got mine tomorrow on IV calculations. Just keep doing the practice problems and try not to overthink! I did that on my pretest, think simple. :)
  13. feeling overwhelmed already:AAAHHH!

I'm a nursing student who's starting her second term of the second year, and starting the Med-Surg clinical rotation. Can I just say that I am absolutely stressed out right now and I've only had three days of classes? We have practical exams at the e...
