  1. In response to your comment about wanting to buy a house, car and going to school with kids, you are absolutely right....it is possible. Last spring, my husband and I were both full-time nursing students, he worked two jobs and I worked one, we have ...
  2. NCLEX Number of Questions and Clarification

So the HESI test really gives an indication of how well you will do on boards? We just took it and I found out that I scored in the top 3 in my class of over 50. My score ended up being equal to a 97.
  3. New Student looking for an online nurse...

What a great idea! We take online classes but there isn't any requirement to discuss nursing topics online with people other than the ones we are in class with. I've been an LPN for 7 years and am graduating on May 21, 2005 with my BSN (YEAH!!) I'm u...
  4. More Strange Baby Names

Regina is my given name (I go by a nick name), but one time I was presented an award (in church, no doubt) and the woman pronounced my name that way (rhymes with the female body part). I was sooooooo embarrassed!!:chuckle
  5. Help!!! Calling All Nurses/nursing Students!!

ULM offers certain levels in the summer and will start the accelerated BSN program this January (you have to have a bachelors degree already in another field to be accepted) Hope it helps!
  6. You would not believe the advantage being an LPN gives you in an RN program. You are right to have a positive attitude about things. I'm really glad I didn't get into the BSN program when I first applied 8 years ago, now I've been an LPN for 7 years ...
  7. Anyone else graduating this May?

I graduate May 21, 2005 at 2pm!! I took my last final for the semester today....this has been a HELLACIOUS semester (advanced med-surg and psych)...and at one point I was in danger of having to repeat this horrible, terrible semester. BUT I PASSED MY...
  8. Diamonds in school?

"forgo wearing my thongs..." Do you mean the shoe kind or the underwear kind? LOL I wear my diamond studs (though not as large as yours). My wedding ring has a pear shaped diamond with ring guards on each side with round and marquise diamonds. Comes ...
  9. I'm trying to gather opinions about nursing attire

I work in a walk-in clinic and wear colorful tops and solid color pants. Often times I wear cartoon character tops (we have a lot of pediatric clients and the adults tend to get a kick out of it too). One thing I cannot stand is the printed scrub pan...
  10. I've been an LPN for almost eight years now and am scheduled to graduate in May with my BSN. I agree with the poster who stated that there is a major difference in how SPNs are treated as opposed to SNs. That could have been the different facilities ...
  11. What Do You Hate About Nursing School!

Smart aleck people in class that ask STUPID questions that the instructor just went over the material.... Here's the scenario two days ago in a test.... We're 15 minutes into the test. Habitually late student walks in, makes a big distraction by putt...
  12. I don't know about any of the other universities, but I have really enjoyed my time at ULM. I have had some really great instructors who care about the students and want to teach you 'real nursing' as opposed to 'textbook nursing'. You should really ...
  13. Help me come up with an idea for a nursing school t-shirt

Royal blue t-shirt with "superman" shape on back in yellow and red, instead of S for superman, SN for 'student nurse' with your school stats (level IV, your school of nursing) underneath Snellen chart type box on back, using that format to put the na...
  14. My husband is in his last term of LPN school and his "instructors" (I use that term loosely to refer to these two idiots they have teaching them) are more worried about teaching them about nurse theorists and historical figures than actual nursing sk...
  15. A question about Diploma Nurses

The reason being that I have been an LPN since I was 23 years old, I'm white, less than 110 lbs, considered attractive, happily married with children. Stereotypes suck....:chuckle
