  2. Any other LPN's find LTC too much to deal with?

I worked at 2 different facilites. Both were about the same; 27-30 pts per nurse, 12-14 pts per CNA. You barely have time to pass your meds and God forbid someone fall, get a cut or vomit. Answering calls from drs, family and doc offices. Faxing ...

I've been a nurse for 2yrs. I've worked a peds office, medsurg at the hospital, LTC as well as pvt duty home health. My fav places was the dr office and pvt duty. I also loved my clincals as school nurse. I have ADD/anxiety and I hate admitting t...
  9. LTC LPN's...how many patients do you have??

I was a CNA before becoming an LPN. When it comes to LTC I would rather work as a CNA anyday. I had 12-14 residents as an aide. 25-27 as a nurse. Barely enough time to pass meds and at one LTC had 8 diabetics on that hall. God forbid a resident ...
  10. Bedside nurse or school nurse? Opinions please.

Sweetie it sounds like to me you need to take the school nurse position. Just d/t the sleeping problems. You know as well as I do when the body does not get enough sleep things start happening. The body heals itself during sleep. You would do goo...
