  1. "Work 20+ hours in your shifts or resign"

Welcome to Air Medical Transport. Who are you working for, Miami Children's? Air Medical (Flight nurses and Medics) obviously isn't for everyone. If you are that unhappy, I suggest you just give two weeks notice and move on. You aren't going to chang...
  2. CFRN/CTRN Support Thread

Hi, I passed the CEN two weeks ago, the CFRN 3 days ago, and am doing the FP-C next Thursday. I had let the certifications expire about a year ago, because I didn't think I was going to fly again. I was wrong, and won't make that mistake again of not...
  3. RN to Paramedic Bridge Course

Wow, that was a BIG BOLD font there wasn't it. Very Impressive!!! Does that get your point across better, haha?????? NOT
  4. RN to Paramedic Bridge Course

Well said brother, having been a Paramedic for 17 years as well as an RN for 12 of those years, I kinda took offense at that first remark myself. RJ Bailey RN CEN EMT
  5. Fastaff anyone?

I have done 4 assignments with Fastaff and will be doing another in a couple weeks. Nothing but great reviews for them as far as I'm concerned. Money is $36-40 per hour. Have NEVER shared housing, or been asked to do so. Have NO complaint with Fastaf...
  6. >>Registered Nurse or Dental Hygienist?<<

No offense, but I don't even see any comparison between the two. I couldn't imagine a worse job than the dental thing, although , of course, it's a necessary one. The opportunities in Nursing are endless, ER, Flight Nursing, Trauma, ICU's, Travel Nur...
  7. Vanderbilt Interview

I worked at Vanderbilt, and it is the most phenomenal place to work. They instill a feeling of pride in yourself and your work like nowhere else. I felt a foot taller just walking onto the campus. Go for it RJ
  8. Umm...I will have 47 residence to care for !!!!!

Hi BigB, After reading your post, I would have to agree with the others that you are getting in over your head. I have been a Paramedic for 17 years and an RN for 11 years. My first job as an RN was at a nursing home, and it was a nice one, brand new...
  9. Anyone working at Washoe Medical Center?

I worked Washoe ER days for Fastaff two years ago. Made $37/hr plus $200/week expense money, 48 hr gaurantee. Love dthe place. Great staff including the ER docs. Everyone first name basis. Had a great time. Great town to be in. Fastaff has night ER o...
  10. I've done three assignments with Fastaff, have made lots of money, and have NEVER had shared housing, nor have I EVER worked a strike. Lots of Fastaff travelers make well over 100K per year in regular travel assignments similar to everyone elses. RJ
  11. Hard to get hired?

No disrespect meant, but are you out of your mind, haha? Why would it be any harder. It's about what you know, what you have done, what you can do, not about whether you are male or female. As a "male RN" , I've worked ED, ICU, both adult and peds, F...
  12. Sierra Vista or Tucson???

I did an RN travel assignment in the ER at UMC. I think it is a great place to work and am thinking of going back. Ratio in ER can be anywhere from 1:1 to 4:1, depending on what zone you are in. Normally 4:1, but if you get a critical pt you will sta...
  13. TV in the ED

Not in favor of TV's in the ER. If you're well enough to watch tv, you should have made a doctor's appointment instead..
  14. MLK in LA

I'm there now on a travel assignment, The money is okay at $38.00/hr with 48 hr a week gaurantee, travel allowance and private housing, but to say it's unlike anywhere you have ever worked is an understatement. They have some good full-timers in the ...
  15. Fastaff

This was a regular travel assignment, not a strike. I have yet to meet ANY travelers from other companies who have made $37/hr with their companies. Nobody beats Fastaff for their pay rate that I have seen rj
