Studies have shown that one should study three hours per credit hour per week, minimum. I am taking Pharm and Foundations for a total of 10, so I have to shoot for 4 1/2 to 5 hrs per day.

  3. Microbiology: Spring 2010

Can someone help me with bacterial counts of food? I'm not getting it. Here's my example: Ten grams of ground beef are added to 90 ml of sterile water. After blending, 0.1 ml is used to inoculate a plate of gen purpose media. After 24hrs incubat...

Thank you so much for the tip! And thanks as well to Michael, Paco, and Brighten! This board has been SO helpful!
  5. Microbiology: Spring 2010

Thank you for the tip. So memorize stuff like Krebs and Glycolysis? There is a tremendous amount of detail. I was just wondering if there were any tips/tricks that were helpful. The professor doesn't like for anyone to ask questions. We all have...

  10. Micro or AP1.... WWYD?

I am in micro now. I have already taken, A&P1, A&P2 & chem. I would highly reccommend you take the A&P1 first, as it will lay the foundation for at least some stuff in micro like cells. Having chemistry before micro would he helpfu...
  11. This has been the most entertaining thread! I totally empathize with OP's choices, and totally respect her position. I love animals! My 16 year old is dissecting a cat this week in A&P. Our cat died in July. I mean no disrespect to her, however...
  12. Definitely take A&P first, as you will have all the cell basics down. If you haven't already done so, take Chemistry before it as well because that is the foundation for microbiology.
  13. Personal ethics HAVE to be put aside. I work in a trauma unit. We had a guy in here, critical, and intubated, whose license was flagged that he was a SEX OFFENDER. The docs and nurses STILL treat him the same as they would ANY OTHER. If one can't...
  14. Microbiology: Spring 2010

Thank you, and CONGRATS! Thankfully, my professor does drop one test grade.
  15. i think it's a waste of time and money. a&pi is very basic. i took it after a 20+ year absence from school, with only high school biology under my belt, and got an 'a'. you'll be fine!
