  1. Anybody going to take LPN boards?

I just finished my first year of 2 in an ADN program. I took my LPN boards last month and Passed :)
  2. Lansing Community College

Good to hear that a lot of your previous credits could transfer! I'm sure you know that LCC's admission works with a point system. The more points you have, the better your chances :) I'm not sure of the actual number of applicants to the program,...
  3. Lansing Community College

Hi Jen. I am a first-semester student currently at LCC. I'm really enjoying it at the moment (says Gen as she avoids studying for her test tomorrow). How far along are you with your pre-reqs? I found that getting in wasn't hard because I had all of...
  4. We use Nursing Diagnosis Handbook by Ackley and Ladwig, 6th edition. I like it a lot.. I'm a first semester student too, and this book is making things look pretty do-able
  5. HELP!!! I can't COUNT the Apical Pulse!!

I learned Apical last week and it made me nervous at first. I figured that I'd just count the pulse the way I felt worked best for me, and like you were saying it was "ah one ah two" etc. It works, and you DO sound like a doofus, but it works. You...

  8. Running out of classes to take

It's a class that teaches you how to draw blood for lab tests from patients. At our school we practiced and learned on each other, which was really helpful and a LOT frightening :) lol
  9. Medical terminology class or not?

I took Med Term last semester over the internet from my local CC. It was really good and really helpful so far. I don't really have any medical background either, which is why I took med term. I would totally recommend it.
  10. Here come the textbooks!

I bought my textbooks from Barnes and Noble too. I saved at least $50 on my last order, which is pretty great. Today, some of my books arrived and I was so geeked!
  11. New to the board

Welcome :) I'm pretty new here too!
  12. Are You In A Click Or A Loner???

I'm pretty much a loner, but there are a few people in my classes that I really like and talk to. A lot of the people that are in my classes are the type that whine and miss class, then beg to copy my notes.. I DON'T think so :)
  13. Running out of classes to take

I had the same problem last semester. I took Phlebotomy and Medical Terminology to help fill my schedule. They won't really help towards a BSN but they did help build my confidence in medicine.
