I'm beginning my prerequisites for an accelerated BSN program. I'm currently working in an ALF. So excited to be on this journey and complete it. Geriatrics and Palliative care is my passion!

    I originally was going the ABSN route as well but I am now in an LPN program here in NY as well. I’ll be getting my feet wet in nursing while making a decent living fairly quickly. It’s so competitive to get into an RN program right away.

    Some rehab centers hire LVNS. You could look into that.

    I have definitely seen this, working in LTC for so many years. I don't think it's true though. If anything, I think that the LPNS are more knowledgeable in my facility. I would take a knowledgeable LPN over an RN that doesn't know much anyday.
