I am a Med-Surg RN. I have been a nurse for 3 years. I love my profession and all the endless opportunities out there. Nursing is challenging, rewarding, depressing, uplifting, stressful, but overall worth it.
I am a patient advocate, a leader, a change agent, team member, and very compassionate nurse.
I am dedicated to my profession and to uplifting the profession of nursing.
Every patient is special and they should always feel that way.

About two weeks after. You have a general orientation the first two days with all professions. Then you go to the nursing orientation about one week in class. They take you to do skills like Iv insertion and how to use their iv pumps, glucometers, tu...

It really is a basic exam. Follow the study guide that they give you and also just go over topics related to what is on the study guide. Side effects were big on the test. Let me know how you did!

What is it that makes you feel unhappy and unsupported by management? What kind of safety issues are you facing that makes you want to leave? Have you taken any steps to make changes to any policies or speak with your union if any? I do hope you find...

Stick it out for the four more months. It looks better on your resume and will give you a leg up when you go for your interviews. ICU experience is great to have but most places require at least 1 year of experience in your specialty. 2 hours is a lo...

You will make mistakes in your career especially being new. Give yourself credit that you are actually reflecting on them. This is a great thing because you're able to acknowledge that you were wrong, learned from it, and not repeat it in the future....
Taking picture is not allowed in my facility. There's a whole policy on it. We let the family members know that it is against hospital policy. But if they take it when no one is there we really can't control what they do because we can't confiscate t...

Thanks I really felt like quitting. I've been a long term looker for many years even before I became a nurse, looking for my first job, and interview tips for the job I just landed. I felt I should join and contribute for all that this forum has done...

Thanks. I'm just not a person who takes kindly to bullying and felt I should stand up for myself against these people. But you are right. I think if I continue I'm sure I will be wasting my time for days.

Excuse me for not coming on the forum ranting about my bad days at work and how I hate my job. Excuse me for bringing up different "off the wall" topics.

Ok good for you. I am not getting college credit either. To think I came on a nursing board to actually talk to professional nurses about topics I am interested in and all I am getting is backlash. Stop harassing me. Thanks.

Why does it matter if I'M the one that gets along with everyone. I came on here as a new member making my posts. Asking for advice in one post, trying to have meaningful conversations in this one, commenting on others posts and giving my opinions. So...
