hi! has anybody here passed an application in medtalents? it is a recruitment agency, and their main office is in new jersey. i sent them my resume several weeks ago. then they sent me through email several forms to fill out. then they scheduled me for a phone interview with their client. and now i received an email saying that i have been selected by onward healthcare, which - as i understand - is a placement firm based in the US, which in turn will assign me to health facilities throughout the US. attached to the email are the list of requirements, list of benefits, and the contract, which i must decide to within 3 days, otherwise it will be considered as a declined offer. i am hesitant and afraid, since all of this is new to me and medtalents is the only agency that i passed an application to, so i have no other agencies to compare it with. so if anybody here knows about, is tied up with, or has applied to, this agency, i'll be thankful for the information that you will give. thanks!

Please research any agency thoroughly before signing anything. Once signed and it is a legal binding document. Also be aware that with the retrogression in place, you are looking at about a five year wait for a chance at a visa, there are many that also wish to work in the US and not near enough visas to go around.

So even if it is an agency, and they are going to match you up with a client hospital, there is no guarantee that they will have work for you five years from now and will continue you with your petitioning process.

I do not know anything about this company, but any that give you just three days before having to give them an answer should be a red flag that goes up. There is no reason to push someone to sign something this quickly when there is going to be a long wait and no guarantee that you will get a visa. Agencies and employers do not issue visas, only the US government does and no agency or employer can get things done faster than any of the others.

thanks suzanne! i already searched their site, as well as that of Onward's. i feel really pressured to sign the contract. i feel that if i decline, i will be letting go of a great opportunity. anyway thanks again.

That's the trick there! Forcing someone to sign.. They know that some Filipino nurses are desperate to go to US.. The pressure and the desperation in one will force you not to think anymore of the present but what's ahead not minding if this will lead you to the right track or not!

Hi! I passed an application with Medtalents back in June 2006. I was referred to them by a friend. My cousin and I were personally interviewed by Beverly Healthcare and was not made to feel pressured into signing up. I did a research about both the agency and the facility and eventually did sign up with them. We now have an approved I-140 (Oct. 2006) and in the process of completing our DS-230. As to getting a visa, only time and the US immigration can tell. Good luck!

The US is under a retrogression, you are looking at five years plus for a chance at a green card for the US. Does not matter at all how they process papers, as it is the US government that does that.

And a red flag needs to go up when you are told that you are going to be under another agency as far as placement, etc. It means that you are being sold to the highest bidder and nothing more that that.

The time that you ask about a firm is way before you sign with them. All of your homework and questions answered before you get to this process.

And be aware that all of these agencies have large cancellation fees, they do not do anything for free.

Thread moved to the International Forum as it has nothing to do with working in your country.

Hello yey22,

I'd like to know how your application is doing.

I visited a MEDTalents, INC here in Manila (Bocobo st cor. UN ave). I checked the websites and it seems like they are the same firm from NJ.

I am thinking of aplying as well. But I'd like to hear your input first - or anyone's for that matter.

Thank you. :)

what happened to your application at medtalents vernice?

can you recommend any agency with good reputation in deploying nurses to usa?

This firm, Medtalents, is run by individuals with NO medical background, understanding or knowledge of the medical industry.

They partner with anyone who will get them business. BEWARE they are the worse of the worse. Some of them are being sought for defaulted loans too.
