I have my checkoff for administrating oral meds tommorrow and I don't think I'm gonna pass this one. This is the first one that you don't get a chance to practice the skill beforehand. It's basically trying to remember 12 different meds, their actions, side effects and nursing implications. I wrote them down on note cards and tried to memorize like I always do for stuff thats hard to remember. Well, this is the first time I can't seem to retain it. I've been studying them since friday and I keep forgeting something on about 70% of the cards and we have to remember everything on them! I still have'nt studied the procedure checklist either and my checkoff is tomorrow around noon. I can take it again in 24 hours if I don't pass, but I don't know how I'm going to remember even after taking it a couple times. I have to pass it by friday, any suggestions?

I made up rhymes to remind me about each drug. Something stupid, but I've been out of school 10 years and I still remember those rhymes!
Edit: Why not post the drugs, so we can see if we can give you tips to remember them?
I was worried over nothing, I passed. I did mess up a little, but the instructor cut me a little slack. I probly got 90% of them right. My gf always makes it sound harder than it is. She said we had to know all 12 meds, but we only had to know 6, but you did'nt know what 6. Anyway, its probly good to know them all, but like the instructer said, we can always look them up. Now its on to injections...
