MedLife Institute

Updated:   Published

Hello All!

I recently gained some information about Med Life institute. They are an LPN-RN school (with other nursing programs as well) located in Florida which offers an online/blended format way to earn your RN. After speaking to the representative she told me you come to FL for a week take some tests and exams to begin classes then do the rest online. The clinical portion is held in New Jersey at an affiliated hospital then at the end of the program you come back to take some more tests and exit exam. The total program runs about 9 months

I checked the Florida BON and saw that the school is legit and you can test for you NCLEX RN after passing the courses. This blended format is new however with the first class beginning in August of this year. I was wondering if:

A. Anyone has any experience with MedLife

B. Anyone in in the August blended class

C. Anyone is in the midst of applying to the January 18 class like myself?

Thanks In Advance to ALL responses.

@Hopefull RN 3 of my coworkers attended the Naples campus, 2 of them are RNs and one hasn't passed boards yet

How did they say the school was? Was it any funny business goin on?

@Hopefull RN I don't know what you mean by "funny business" even though they did have some interesting and funny stories to share....but at the end of the day, they're still a RN! If you don't like how the school is set up or ran, then go to a traditional school and don't waste your time... go with your gut feeling!

I went to medlife in Lauderdale Lakes. I finished with my Asn and my name was sent to the NY board with no issues.I am scheduled to take my Rn exam. Yes every school has its issues but at medlife you get what you put into it. If you are looking to get out quickly this is definitely the program. I took a chance with the school and I am so grateful that I did as I would be still struggling in NY schools getting nowhere.

@Darp7288 well said, yes attending the program was the best decision of my life, I has opened so many close doors. Now I'm making great money working close to home and living my dreams. I wish you the best on passing your nursing exam.

Did you have to endorse your boards to another state? If so, did you have any issues?

Just an update since no one has posted in awhile. I'm officially a RN and got approved to start my BSN soon, so happy to be done with the school!

Which BSN program did you get into I went to med life too

@Macavelibad2 UTA University Texas at Arlington accepted me with no problems and my classmate got accepted to Chamberlin, she's doing her Master's right now

@Hoepfully RN yes they're not lying when they say you'll be done real quick, it's true!!! Just get it out the way and don't look back. After I received my permission to test, I applied right in my home state so I wouldn't have to get endorsed later, so I didn't go through Florida. One of my classmates had a problem with hers becuz she went through Florida and now trying to get endorsed in New Jersey and they're giving her a hard time

So u were able to do RN to BSN bridge at UTA?

@hopefulrn

The program is good if you study. Check the accreditation site to make sure they are still accredited. The bad reviews are coming from people who made it to the end and realized that they had to pass a exit exam in order to finish the program and was not able to pass it. Without passing the exit exam your name will not be sent to the board of nursing. Another person posted they can’t use there education from them just a FYI any general Ed courses taken with them will not transfer to a college because this is a institute. So take your general core courses with a college straighterline or study. com or excelsior exams if you are planning on going to a college bsn program so you will have no problems. I would definitely recommend this program. Yes it is a little disorganized at times but as I said I am very greatful for the choice I made and a lot of my coworkers who didn’t do it with me are very sorry now that they didn’t they were hesitant as it sounded too good to be true but it is so true. It’s unfortunate that Fort Lauderdale location is closing and the online program is no longer being offered but as they say you snooze you loose. Good Luck to you.

I have all of my core classes and even some nursing classes that's why they told me I will be done in 3 months. They are accredited by ABHES, is that the same accreditation they had while u were in the program? If it is, I think I will give it a shot

@hopefulrn Yes it was ABHES accredited. I would give it a shot although I didn’t go to Naples I went to Fort Lauderdale but like I said I finished in 6 months some people finished in 3 months if they had most of the nursing courses and there were no issues as long as your tuition is paid and you pass the exit your name will get to the boards are you doing it online in Naples or you have to physically go to class.
