Hello All!
I recently gained some information about Med Life institute. They are an LPN-RN school (with other nursing programs as well) located in Florida which offers an online/blended format way to earn your RN. After speaking to the representative she told me you come to FL for a week take some tests and exams to begin classes then do the rest online. The clinical portion is held in New Jersey at an affiliated hospital then at the end of the program you come back to take some more tests and exit exam. The total program runs about 9 months
I checked the Florida BON and saw that the school is legit and you can test for you NCLEX RN after passing the courses. This blended format is new however with the first class beginning in August of this year. I was wondering if:
A. Anyone has any experience with MedLife
B. Anyone in in the August blended class
C. Anyone is in the midst of applying to the January 18 class like myself?
Thanks In Advance to ALL responses.
Hello Lynnd4eva94, I just had the same experience that you had at med life. I believe that this school does not care about the students that go there. And you are definitely right about the hesi. The computers did freeze several times and restarted itself and all they did was reset it and told me to continue, I couldn't move to another computer. There are also so many issues in that school. There are many students from that school that are left with nothing because they changed the policies right before you take your exit or whenever they want. When you first get in they tell you something completely different. I also heard that some students complained to the board of education and they were kicked out. So, I would not reccomend this school. They are on probation. They say that they have 100% passing rate, but that's only because they sent one person out of 10 to the board and she passed. All those students that were not sent lost their money. I think something needs to be done about this. I hope everything works out for you. If you can give me advice on how to start the process on battling the school, I would greatly appreciate it.

I believe you received some feedback in your thread about this "school"

I went there (Lauderdale Lakes campus) passed my HESI in 85 questions and the program was about 10k give or take. My ATT is being processed and I plan to test in a few weeks, Ive spoken to WGU about their RN-BSN bridge and they will accept it. I know people have their opinions about the program but it worked for me and I learned so I can't complain, to each its own
TheMB said:@tmehta2018 Make sure you ask your home BON or where you plan to practice about their endorsement policies also be in mind that FL is a compact state if you choose to get your license there
A Florida license is only valid as a compact license if your permanent residence is in Florida. If your permanent residence is in any other state, it becomes a single state license. If your state of residence is a compact state, then your compact license can only be held in that state and all other licenses in compact states are no longer valid.
