Medical Terminology: To Take or Not to Take?

Published

I am considering taking medical terminology next quarter online, but was not sure if I should take it. All the nursing schools I am applying to, do not require the class...but I thought it might be a good class to take. Suggestions? Has anyone taken the class? Thanks!

It wasn't required for me either, but I am so happy I took it. I took it while I was taking A&PII and everything just went together and made more sense. I do suggest it to other nursing students now. I honestly think they should require it.

Oh, I also agree that this class should be required!!!

I took this one before A&P (I didn't plan it, but couldn't get in to A&P, not even on a waiting list:cry:), it was HARD, but A&P seemed more easier after this terminology class.

I also think that Dosage Calculation would be a great addition to prereq. I am taking it before the program starts and I love it. I'm taking it in community college and only paying $26 or $28 since it's a 1 unit class. A lot of reading, but I am learning a lot. I already have 2 people on the waiting list for my book to use. LOL

Good luck to everyone to get into NURSING PROGRAM:eek::eek::eek:

Good thread, I've also been wondering if I should take this class or not. I've already completed A&P I and II, and am starting a program in March. I'm wondering from now until then if I should find an online (and hopefully cheap) Med Term class to take, so I can be on the ball. Or maybe, does anyone suggest a great book for Med Term that I could teach myself/expand my knowledge?
