Medical City Healthcare Nurse Residency Summer 2023

Nurses Residency

Updated:   Published

Hi there I was looking to connect with people who will be interviewing/attending the new grad bash and keep up to date with each other throughout the process!

*I hadn't seen one for 2023 Summer cohort yet so I figured I would make a post*

I'm waiting on an interview for L&D Dallas. If I get an offer, I will start in May. My recruiter informed me that she needed the approval to schedule the interview. I'm waiting patiently.

Awesome! Hope you get to interview with them. I interviewed with the manager from mother-baby and L&D and they are both very nice! Just be yourself, they are very easy to talk to! I also did a shadow shift in the unit and everyone was very nice and helpful!

Thank you. I been waiting 2 days now. I'm nervous. Did you negotiate your pay?

I didn't. I am keeping my same base pay that I'm already at but I will say L&D night differential is higher than any other position so will be getting paid more that way.

If you don't mind me asking, what is the night differential for L&D? I accepted a NICU position and the night differential is not bad at all, just wanting to see how the rest of the hospital works

L&D is $8.00. I work in ICU right now and I'm pretty sure all of critical care is the same but I'm getting $3.75 on nights currently so it's a pretty big difference. Is NICU the same?

Hey if you do not mind me asking what was the night differential for NICU? I did not ask all those questions?

NICU was $10.00! My recruiter did such a great job in telling me this. I would not have asked any of those questions as I was freaking out during the phone call ?

It's a very big difference ? the women's and children's hospitals are heaven compared to the rest, believe me.

I'm so glad to keep hearing this. I was so scared because of all the other things I would hear.

Does anyone know if they still have L&D spots left at any facility? I know they are hiring people at the grad bashes but I can't go since I live 6 hours away ?

I was wondering the same thing. I applied to L&D and mother baby. I live in Mississippi. I'm moving in April.
