Anyone work critical care at MCP? Curious to know if you like it. I've heard terrible things about their medi-tech charting system.

Meditech isn't great but it gets the job done. I would not turn down a job with them due to the charting system. The CC unit has a very tight team. It is a for profit institution, so be sure you are happy with the offer before you accept it...they aren't great at giving good raises later on. Ratios can get a bit high. The hospital is growing like mad. Burn unit, trauma center, stroke center...they have big goals are are achieving them.

The charting is not the reason why I would run. Benefits, Lack of Raises, Ratios, Corporate mentality, Lack of nurse retention, 1.50 hr on call pay, etc...You need to do some research. Ultimately I can't tell nor any strangers on the internet can advise you on how to proceed its your life.
I need to clarify, of course I would never pick a job based on a charting system, but it does add to my cons list. The things you mentioned Wolf are much more important to me, thanks for all the info. Are you frequently tripled in their ICUs? Their growth is really what is intriguing to me, I am willing to put up with some growing pains, if it means I'll be more fulfilled in my career later. I am really interested in becoming a critical care nurse educator and want to expand my knowledge and go somewhere that I will see a lot and not have to drive to Dallas.

I live and work in the D/FW Metroplex, but would never work at a HCA-owned facility such as MCP unless desperation drove me to accept a position.
yikes! s there a specific reason why? Have you worked for them in the past or just heard things? Thanks!
