Can you go to nursing school right after going to medical assistant school. And are there any requirements that is needed

I'm glad I got my ma certification before going to nursing school. Of course I would have rather been able go to school full time to complete my nursing prerequisites and go straight into nursing school but a lot of bumps in the road kept me from being able to do that. So I settled for an MA certification to at least get my foot in the door.

If your program allows you to complete your ma while doing your prereqs, you should just go for it. I've gained a lot of front end and back office experience working as an ma. I was able to work while going to school in the evening (part-time) to complete my prerequisites for the nursing program. If your program is full time during the day and doesn't allow you to work during the traditional 9 to 5 hours, try looking into urgent cares that are open after hours. I worked at one for a few years that was open from 8 to 8 during the week and 9-5 during the weekends.

Now that I'm in a full time day nursing program, I'm going to have to look for a job either at the hospital or at an urgent care. At least my MA certification and experience will help me to do that and get paid at a higher rate, hopefully.:nailbiting: either way, we find our way when it's something you truly want.

I thought the OPs name meant sort of like a "nurse to-be," since her name is 2bnursenadia30..... I could be wrong. :)

Name was changed subsequent to her starting the thread. It was nursenadia (not allowed per ToS) originally

Odd question if someone wears a hat people normally associate with nurse's, but inform people they are not is that a similar situation? I always wondered since hospital I work at the tech shrubs are the color of the nurse shrubs at the old hospital I worked at and the nurse shrubs are the color of my OR scrubs ha!.
