These are some concepts to remember to help you memorize signs and symptoms of some Diseases..
SNS and PNS
SNS
-Everything is HIGH and FAST except in GI and GU (hypertension, tachycardia, tachypnea, constipation, slow metabolism)
PNS
-Everything is LOW and SLOW except in GI and GU (bradypnea, bradycardia, hypoglycemia, diarrhea)
CUSHINGS AND ADDISONS DISEASE:
Cushings:
-Everything is HIGH and FAST except K (e.g. hypertension, hyperglycemia, edema, HYPOKALEMIA)
Addisons:
-Everything is LOW and SLOW except K (e.g. weight loss, hypoglycemia, hypotension, HYPEKALEMIA)
-dark skin
HYPERTHYROIDISM AND HYPOTHYROIDISM:
Hyperthyroidism
-Everything is HIGH, FAST and WET (e.g. hypertension, tachycardia, high body temperature, diarrhea, diaphoresis)
-Eye manifestations (e.g. exopthalmos, lid lag, bright-eyed stare)
Hypothyroidism
-Everything is LOW, SLOW and DRY (e.g. bradycardia, low body temp, lethargy, dry hair, dry skin, constipation)
LEFT AND RIGHT CHF:
Left CHF
-pulmonary edema (e.g. dyspnea, wheezing, rales, moist cough)
-cellular hypoxia
-RAAS activation
Right CHF
-venous backup (e.g. neck vein engorgement, ascites, leg varicosities, weight gain, jaundice)
-systemic
HYPERGLYCEMIA AND HYPOGLYCEMIA
Hyperglycemia
-3 P's (Polydipsia, Polyuria, Polyphagia)
-dehydration
-ketoacidosis (e.g. metabolic acidosis)
Hypoglycemia
-decrease sugar to the brain
-feeling hungry
-SNS stimulation
SIADH and DI
SIADH
-hypersecretion of ADH
-water retention
-dilutional hyponatremia
DI
-hyposecretion of ADH
-water loss

Thanks! If only I had you in my class at school! lol You are good at simplifying complex concepts. I have already forgot several of these so I appreciate the refresher. :)
