I also applied for the bridge RN and according to the info from the Director of Advisement, the letters should go out next week. As far as whether or not its worth becoming an LPN then RN, I would say, No. Getting an LPN license is not going to get you into the program any faster. For the bridge program being an LPN does not give you any additiona advantage. If you dont get into the program then its because your GPA is not high enough. Because you applied for the bridge program, Im assuming that you have all of your pre-reqs. Consider taking classes to earn you AA and making straight A's. Also consider applying to other schools. Remember there are alot of MAs and LPNs who became MAs and LPNs because they could not get into the RN program. There are people with 3.7 GPAs who got denied by MDC. They in-turn became MAs and LPNs and are applying for the bridge making the bridge more competitive. Hope this helps, Good Luck!
Oh boy, looks like my chances are slim to none. I ended up getting my AA this spring and got A's on my last 4-5 classes but it didnt help very much, it only got to a 3.0. It is so difficult to bring it up! Looks like this week I will get the final word. Best of luck to you and thanks for replying.

Has anyone received acceptance/denial letter to the transitional/bridge RN program at Miami Dade for the Fall 2010 term? I applied for the LPN Fall 2010 program also since I am an RMA and thought that might be a good idea if I didnt get into the RN one and I got an acceptance letter from them already. I heard letters were sent out by the same dept but still nothing on the RN program. I called dade and they always say nothing has been sent yet and will be sent end of June. Oh and any advice if it is worth doing the LPN if I dont get into the RN? I almost feel like it might be a waste of time since I could do the bridge program. Looking forward to hearing from you all! :)
