Mdc Students For Nursing? What Gpa Did You All Get Accepted With?

Nursing Students Pre-Nursing

Published

I have been coming to this sight a lot lately. I am off the wall with this whole process on getting into the MDC nursing program. I applied to the generic program for Fall/2008.:banghead:.

Basically I am waiting for the acceptance letter which they already told me are going to be send out starting on March 16th. I imagine that those who are not accepted from the get go will get their letters first hand, and those who are accepted will get there letters first as well. For those who may be accepted I can imagine it might take more time. The school will probabley see who is going to be in the program, and who decides not to go in.

Anyway, I am so nervous. I really would appreciate some insight how just how high your GPA has to be. I have heard HORROR stories. The advisors in MDC are horrible (Well some not all.) At least a lot of the medical campus advisors are not to helpful. Everytime I talk to someone they tell me something new .

I really want to hear from students who are applying and what their GPA is. Also students who have been accepted into the generic program for Miami Dade College, what was there GPA when getting accepted?

I want to be a labor and delivery nurse. I finally found that was for me when I gave birth to my son two years ago. I have been working hard ever since, and I am extremely discouraged and nervous with all the talk about the GPA's for MDC.

Please anyone with insight into this. I would appreciate ALL the advise that is offered. Let me know:rolleyes:.

Sorry to hear that. Don't worry. I am sure you are going to get in I hope. Any info and I will inform you don't worry.

Thank you, I really appreciate it.

I'll just have to keep positive and pray for the best.

Good luck!

Thank you so much.

I really appreciate it. So for now I'll keep positive and keep praying.

Good Luck !

Hey guys, I just checked my student e-mail and I got a scholarship Invite too!!!!!!!!! What does that mean though??? On the bottom it says that my admission process has not been completed and that this is not an acceptance letter??:banghead:

Fantastic!

Well at least it means that they are interested in the application and your GPA is worth looking at.

I won't be able to make it, since I'm out of town, but I am going in on Friday to find out what I can.

Please let me know what it is about after you go. Nerves are starting to act up so this coming month is going to be nail biting.

Good Luck!

:scrying: No email and no scholarship invite...... I feel really sick to my stomach now....... ugh

Don't lose hope!

Until the acceptance letter comes we're all in the same boat.

Let's keep cool and what will be will be.

:nurse:

Thanks...Realistically I know I wont get accepted into the program for the fall of 08' I applied with a 3.17 Cum GPA--doing summer school now and I'm expecting it to go up to atleast a 3.4 once i'm done, but that probably won't cut it....I think I may end up at Barry After all- *Sighs*

Best of Luck to EVERYONE!

Be careful with Barry, i read that they were on the brink on losing accreditation..

DO NOT WORRY YET. What is your GPA. I don't think this means anything until you have a letter saying whether you are accepted or not. DO NOT WORRY TO MUCH!!!!

Ok you have a 3.1 but you can get that up until a 3.4 and taking more classes above a 3.6. It sounds like you will be fine. Barry or not you are going to be ok. You have to be positive there is always a way believe me!

Good luck, and please keep me informed as to what you will be doing. I think you will make it some way or other.

People with the scholarship invite have no way of knowing if they are accepted in or not. It is really a gamble for everyone. Even people with really good grades.

You do not know who is applying, and what the students will decide to do. I think I will end up going into Barry as well in January. You have a back up plan like me.

We have to get together to study. I have heard it is the best.
