Hello Everyone,
I am new to this site and greatly enjoy the information that is posted. Is there anyone out there that has taken, will take, or knows someone who has taken the LPN to RN Bridge at MDC? I am curious to how the program is structured and most importantly when are the clinicals. I would also like to know what the typical schedule is for the full-time RN to LPN. I have read alot of posts and no one has really addressed the MDC LPN to RN Program.
Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in Advanced:lol2:
because i did not receive any responses, i will continue this thread as a tool for other students who will one day be in the position that i am in. last week i was invited to a mandatory scholarship information session held at the school. supposedly, the only people invited were the people with extremely high gpas. for fall 2010, there will be no jackson or baptist scholars programs available to students. however, the school offers a few scholarships for all options of the nursing program. there were some need-based scholarships (that i will not qualify for) but there was a scholarship for work experience.
it has been almost 8 weeks since the deadline and everyone is still waiting for a response. at the scholarship info session, we were told that the letters were going out this week. i thought this week meant monday but its thursday and still no response.
i saw on some other threads that some people received denial letters. wouldn't it make more sense to send acceptances before denials?
can't worry about things i have no control over. i'm just waiting and watching like everyone else.
I was able to go to mdc.edu and see the open classes for Fall 2010. Because I applied for on-line bridge the theory classes will be on-line. I was mainly concerned with clinicals. Based on the schedule I was able to see that MDC offers so many clinicals sites and times. However, they are all designated by the option that you are in. For instance a Bridge and Accelerated cannot be in the same clinical.

My friend got rejected and she applied way after I did. :1 This is getting kind of annoying. I've checked the mail 3 times(maybe 4?) because my mailman is never on time, lol. Ugh!!!
Yesterday I rushed home from work and found a letter from MDC stating that I did not get into the Part-Time Generic Option. Funny thing is, I did not apply for the part-time generic. I applied for full-time transitional. Hmmm. Whats really going on over there?
When will I get the decision for the option that I chose?

you and tatortots should go ambush the Department of Nursing Office and demand explanations
No Kamakazi Missions yet. I was invited to the scholarship session. Also in May I received an email from RP and SR asking me "If accepted into the LPN-RN Bridge, which option would you choose? Traditional Classroom Setting or On-Line." I know I was accepted to something. Just not Part-Time Generic?
I have a large yellow envelope from Miami Dade College Medical Center Campus. Its post dated June 25, 2010. I wonder what it is?
