Hi everyone! I just wanted to start a thread for applicants of the nursing program at Miami Dade College for Fall term 2017. I'm currently working on my last prerequisites and will be finished this semester. I plan on taking the HESI A2 in January and applying for the Generic and Part time tracks.
The science GPA is based on A&P 1 and lab, A&P 2 and lab, Chm1033 and lab, and microbiology (lecture only). You can use this tool to help you calculate your GPA: GPA Calculator - Advisement and Career Services - Miami Dade College.
So far everything has been going good. The program keeps you busy but it is not impossible. Most of the teachers I have I can tell are really freaking good. They are very helpful but they do expect you to study. They will only hold your hand for so long.As far as the schedule go, I have school every day except Thursday. On Monday I have to be at school pretty much the whole day. On Friday I have clinicals and I have to stay at the nursing home the whole day. Tuesday and Wednesday I only have school for a couple of hours.
Hello,
I am so glad you are giving very positive feedback on the full time generic program. Do you attend medical campus or Homestead? What is the schedule like if you dont mind? Do classes start as early as 8:00 am? Reason I ask is because both campuses are equally far and that would mean early mornings for me...

I think you multiply your grade (4 for A, 3 for B, 2 for C, 1 for D) by the number of credits the class is because lab is one credit and the lectures are 4 credits. Then at the end you divide your total by the total number of credits.
