It's never too early to start the discussion....
Anyone else preparing to apply to the Nursing program at MDC by May 1, for a Fall 2021 start date? Which tracks? TEAS test plans?

If you don't have a previous Bachelors Degree, you are not considered for Accelerated.
FIU sent out an email saying they had a record number of applicants to their BSN program and it has caused them to delay acceptance letters. MDC, I have heard, has 1000+ applicants each cycle so you would have to think it will also have a record number this time.
You can always apply to part-time, which I'm guessing most people don't want to do and therefore would have less applicants.

Someone have a plan B just in case not been accepted???
Plan B is to always keep applying. I really hope no one gives up. I've decided to skip this semester and apply for the next to study for the TEAS, I'm also taking the time to complete the prerequisites for the BSN. Best of luck to you all!!

Giovanna, I would highly recommend you talk to an advisor. There is a BSN that continues as soon as you finish your ASN, granted you pass the NCLEX. Going into all of this without the full information is just going to make you more confused.

But if you look at the schedules, MDC’s generic full time ASN/BSN takes 7 semesters, which is very similar to most other schools for just getting the BSN. You might finish a semester quicker in some places, but they are also likely to be the most competitive with the highest TEAS/admissions tests/GPAs. Nova, for example, is also 7 semesters. No different in the end.

I would just reapply for Spring ‘22 if I don’t get accepted for Fall, but I would probably apply for both Accelerated and Generic FT program.
