Hello everyone!!
I always read the posts, but I haven't posted in a long time.
But I have yet to see anyone speak about the LPN to RN Transition Online Program at Miami-Dade College. I am completing my pre-requisites at Broward College. I finished Chemistry (B), ENC 1101 (B), and I am now in A&P 1 with lab (which is also looking like a B in both). I am going to apply to Broward College. However, , I heard that there is an online LPN to RN program at Miami-Dade College that I would love to get more info about. Is anyone attending the program or knows anyone that is attending the program? If so, how is it going???? Any info would be greatly appreciated!!!
Toodles!
Is anyone going through the program or knows of anyone that is going through the program???? Can anyone tell me...please?? Just kidding! Seriously, I would like to have feedback on this of possible....

ur best bet is to go talk with an advisor at the medical campus. I too would like some info on LPN-RN bridge program. Im starting the LPN program at MDC this month.
That's good that you are starting the LPN program at MDC. I finished the LPN program at Sheridan Tech ctr, and right now, I am just completing my pre-reqs at Broward College. MDC has always been my first choice because they are an excellent school. It is just very competitive to get into!!!! But I would love to find out more info about the LPN to RN online program. Good luck to you!

Hi C-Los
I'm so glad to find someone in this forum that's starting the Lpn program at Mdc. I tried getting into the generic and accelerated option, but it was way to competitive and got denied twice. I have a 3.3 gpa and have completed the Anatomies and microbiology courses. I was very frustrated but didn't give up. I applied to Robert Morgan and Mercy Hospital for the lpn program. I got accepted at Robert Morgan for the march program in the morning and i still need to hear fom Mercy. The thing is that both programs start in the morning and i want to find something in the afternoon. I want to try to get in MDC college but the lady there told me it was really hard to get in and they only offer it on August. Can you please give me some advice. Was it hard for you to get into. I had taken the Nln exam at mercy and scored a 94 percent. Do you think that's a good score for mdc or should i take the exam again? I would really appreciate any input. Thanks

I went to Robert Morgan. Graduated April 2008. It was crazy, the clinical uniform are horrendous. But you can do it. It'll fly by. Iv'e been trying to apply to the bridge program and its pretty crazy. Got denied for this fall, just got my rejection letter today for the Bridge full time Spring 2010 , waiting to see if maybe ill get accepted for part time spring 2010 since i applied for full time and part time. Trying to see what Broward College offers. I know they have an lpn-rn program, so does Mercy but last time I called Mercy hospital the orientation for the lpn-rn were done by july. It's tough out there. Good luck !
Mercy has an evenig LPN also

I completed the online bridge program at MDC in December 2008. What did you want to know about the program in particular? I can tell you that it beats having to drive to the campus, but it is a lot of work. You have to read a lot but the work is doable.
Do you know what is the average gpa of people getting into the progam? Do you have to take all your pre requsities to get accepted into the program? Did you work while completing the program? Thank you for your reply I appreciate it.

I am currently a MDC RN Nursing Student. I am in my 4th semester and I will graduate next month. I don't know much about the bridge or transition programs. I am in the Generic program. But, I do know that the cutoff for the last class that was chosen was a 3.8. I am the one who originally posted that information on this website. I am friends w/ one of my professors at the college who told me this. I'm not sure if the standards are the same for bridge/transition. I know it's frustrating to call the college and ask questions. They aren't very helpful but, if I can answer anything let me know.
