Hello there. My name is Greg. Im gonna start hopefully the nursing program this fall 2016 in Miami dade college. let me tell you a little about me. Ive graduated from Miami dade college in 2014 with my AA in pre nursing, therefore I have all my pre reqs done. my overall gpa is 3.62 and my science gpa is 3.96. I still haven't taken the hesi exam but I plan on march. Im starting this post because were already in January of 2016 and I would like to meet my future classmates. Please if you starting in fall of 2016 feel free to comment and let us all know your status and strategies on the hesi exam. We can all help each other out. By the way I heard the deadline to apply for the fall term is may 2016.

Hello All!!!

New to this thread, but just received my acceptance letter on Friday for the Homestead campus! This was my third time applying and i was finally accepted! Now the only thing is that i am 8 weeks pregnant :nailbiting: !!!!!!! With the Titers, if you are not immune, would you have to get a vaccine??? I know there are some vaccines that are a no no for pregnant women!!! I may have to decline my spot :arghh:

Hi there! There are some vaccines you shouldn't get like hepatitis B I believe. And the MMR, but you're Probably already immune to MMR. TDAP it is recommended you get later in your pregnancy. i know you can apply for an exception and possibly be compliant temporarily if you provide proof that you're pregnant. You may need to call. Don't give up! Congratulations!

Hello fellow classmates,

If you haven't done so already, you may get the titers and vaccines with your PCP with your medical insurance. If your doctor puts a physical and/or preventable diagnosis you might not have to pay anything depending on your insurance.

who's done with the steps and is compliant with complio? if so, have you been able to register for class?

I seen about 7 people have registered for the first class.

Hey everyone as of today I am compliant and I uploaded all my requirements just yesterday the process was way faster than I expected I will be attending the homestead campus so I really don't feel the need to jump the gun and start registering for classes. I personally think it makes sense to wait until after orientation before picking classes.As far as uniforms for anyone attending the homestead campus the uniform store down the street from the school I believe it's called Miami uniform has hunter green scrub sets for only $15.99 and they put the Mdc logo for another $4.99 so a complete set will run about $22 as opposed to getting it from the book store which sells just the tops for almost $30 and form what I heard the bookstore pants have a weird fit. So now that I have all of that out the way it's time to take a vacation í ½í¸Š Hope to see all of my fellow classmates at orientation. Who else will be attending the homestead campus?

Hey, did you end up taking the CPR/BLS at Miami-Dade? What kind of card did they give you? Does it just say CPR on it or CPR/BLS?

I don't think it matters were we get the scrubs from as long as it's the same color and it has the logo.
