Practice Medicine in USA with Green Card

I have been getting multiple requests from around the world about programs for physicians that wish to go thru a nursing program that is accepted in the US. This one meets the requirements of CGFNS, as well as US immigration. It is an accelerated one year program.

The clinicals, as well as theory hours, meet the requirements for all states in the US.

Any other information about their program will need to come from them.

Specializes in CTICU.

I don't mean to be rude, but why on earth would you think a medical degree qualifies you to sit the NCLEX or be an RN? It's a totally different skill and knowledge set. I'm sure the science knowledge would be useful, but it certainly would not substitute for nursing school.

@ ghillber, I know nursing and md are different. I saw many md's working as RN so thought we can give, did not know they do courses in home country before they come here.Since both are medical field, my feeling is all pathology, micro, pharma is same, md 's will have to do more. Yes there are things that nursing team do more and md's don't do. I have worked in hospital many years and seen nursing team and I feel it won't be very difficult to catch up.

Well looks like it is not possible to apply for exam directly. Anyway thanks for replying!

@bsnwnab, thank you very much! It was really helpful info. I did my MBBS from bangladesh and Masters from Australia. I was planning to take nursing degree and also do diploma in ultrasound or do midwifery since i was obgyn back home. still so confused with all these boundaries we face as an fmg. going back to school at this stage not really appealing. lets see what option i have! exploring!!

Lama, just a reminer, Nursing is not as you imagined. Please spend some time to find out what nursing is all about before you decide to dive into it. Good luck...
