  1. @ ghillber, I know nursing and md are different. I saw many md's working as RN so thought we can give, did not know they do courses in home country before they come here.Since both are medical field, my feeling is all pathology, micro, pharma is same, md 's will have to do more. Yes there are things that nursing team do more and md's don't do. I have worked in hospital many years and seen nursing team and I feel it won't be very difficult to catch up. Well looks like it is not possible to apply for exam directly. Anyway thanks for replying! @bsnwnab, thank you very much! It was really helpful info. I did my MBBS from bangladesh and Masters from Australia. I was planning to take nursing degree and also do diploma in ultrasound or do midwifery since i was obgyn back home. still so confused with all these boundaries we face as an fmg. going back to school at this stage not really appealing. lets see what option i have! exploring!!
  2. thanks ginger mom! I am out of practice for 5 years now. I have been trying to get in for last 2 years without success. Everyone ask why I don't work and my problem is I am not qualified for anything. I do want to remain in health field and feel nursing would be the best alternative. I don't want to go to any tech or PA path. Do you know any md to rn course in California. I am based in bayarea. I tried to enroll last year in nursing college but it is quite competative to get in local college here and private are expensive.
  3. can u please give the link, it shows error. I have been to welcomeback center. They could not give this info. I was encouraged to give usmle, which i give. wasted 3 years with no interview.
  4. Hi everyone! I have been skimming this forum for sometime and now just registered. I migrated 5 years back with greencard. I am ecfmg certified now but did not get any interview and I don't have any hope of getting any residency position. I am thinking of nursing degree. I have financial problem plus have little child, so don't want to go to regular class. How do I take associate degree in nursing? From this forum I could get from ADN later we can do bridging course and enter masters in nursing. Is there any online course that is recognised? I have been following info about excelsior but since I live in california and do plan to stay back, it does not seem right fit for me. As a MD, can we just challenge NCLEX? are we allowed? I saw couple of NCLEX prep course nearby. I am sure I will be able to pass it if I am allowed. Is it necessary to do BSN? thanks!
