MD Anderson Residency

U.S.A. Texas

Published

Hi everyone,

I received an interview for the MD Anderson Clinical Nurse Residency Program starting hopefully mid-March. I'm incredibly nervous because this is my first call back.

Anybody have any tips on... How the interviews are conducted? How many are interviewed? What units at the hospital are available to work in? And did anybody else get an interview?

Thanks!

I and several school friends received job offers for MD today!

Congrats to all those who received job offers!!! :)

I never made it to the second interview, but I hope I'm able to get other job offers I have here in Texas.

I never did either christinejoy_d. I thought it was really rude and unprofessional actually. She said I would hear back to set up a second interview by the end of the week or early the next week and I never heard anything...not even an e-mail saying that I didn't get the job. I ended up getting a job in Sarasota, Florida though, and living 1/2 a mile from the beach! I guess everything happens for a reason!

Congratulations!!! Have u started already??? Yeah she told me the same thing where I would here within a week and I never got a rejection email either.

Belle2013: What department will you be in?

I haven't received my match email yet. They said they are still working on them. Although, I am about 90% certain I will be declining the offer. I received another offer that I will most likely be going with.

well if it helps you even more, keep in mind Anderson doesn't have computerized charting which really realllyy sucks lol

I know :-( that's one thing that I've definitely put into consideration. That is a big thing to me, especially when we are talking med admin....

just wait until you have to do your charting on admission and assessments, my friends working there always complain about it when we get together. And yeah med admin sucks especially when you have to freaking call and verify bunch of meds constantly cause you can't read the scribbles.

Yea, I imagine we came into the application period late and were back-ups in case others didn't work out?

I start May 13. They just opened a brand new wing and are hiring new grads every 4 weeks right now, not sure if you are willing to move out of Texas, but if you are, it is a great opportunity.

Good luck with your search!

Actually I know at least the Pedi department just signed a contract with a company. They expect the system to be up in 18 months.
