UPENN MSN Fall 2018
Hi! I recently applied to the Adult-Gerontology primary care program. My application went into "Ready for Review" status yesterday, and I also got an invitation to interview yesterday. I interviewed today and I think it went well? She asked why I wanted to be part of the program and I what I plan to do after graduation. The rest of the interview was me asking her questions about the program. I was also interested in minoring in Oncology and she gave me the name of a professor to contact regarding the minor. I am so anxious to hear further. Have any of you gotten acceptance letters yet?

Yea, I imagine we came into the application period late and were back-ups in case others didn't work out? I start May 13. They just opened a brand new wing and are hiring new grads every 4 weeks right now, not sure if you are willing to move out of Texas, but if you are, it is a great opportunity. Good luck with your search!

I never did either christinejoy_d. I thought it was really rude and unprofessional actually. She said I would hear back to set up a second interview by the end of the week or early the next week and I never heard anything...not even an e-mail saying that I didn't get the job. I ended up getting a job in Sarasota, Florida though, and living 1/2 a mile from the beach! I guess everything happens for a reason!

Hi Everyone! I still have not heard anything about scheduling my second interview yet, has anybody else heard anything? Also, anybody who has sent me a private message, for some reason, they will not let me reply. They said I have to participate in 15 quality topics or something? I don't know. As far as people applying without licenses, I don't really know the answer to that but personally, I would apply regardless of your license status, and then if you happen to get your license, update your profile with the new status. I applied to hospitals all over the country before and after I got my license. I received call-backs before AND after I got my license. I think because we are new grads, they expect that you will get your license. Your license status can be updated, but you never know when the application periods are going to close, so I think it would be best to get your application in while you have the opportunity. As far as the Texas license, I am out of state and I did have a first interview with MD Anderson before transferring my license. I am not going to transfer yet because I am interviewing in other states as well. I believe the application said that you will just be expected to have the license before the start date. Hope this helps! Good luck everybody and keep us updated!

chiq81 - When I interviewed, she told me that she doesn't have the next set of dates that the panel interviews on yet. She said that they do all of the panel interviews in about 2 days, and when she gets those days, she will be back in touch. I definitely think that there is plenty of time for them to call yet!

I had my first interview this week as well. I am waiting for a call about the 2nd interview. She said it should be the end of this week or early next week.

Good to know! Thank you so much! I have to work on not rambling when I get questions like that...haha. Did they offer you a position at the interview or any feedback as to when you would be hearing from them? Good luck to you!

I graduated in December. I initially had a position in PA but I ended up turning it down because the start date was during my wedding and honeymoon. My husband and I want to get out of this cold weather anyway, so it is for the best. I did apply for the April/May grads one. I feel like they were pretty quick in calling me back, so hopefully it will be the same for you! Keep me updated!

Hi everyone! I applied on February 16 and got a call the following week. I had my phone interview this past monday (March 4). She said that she needs to speak with the panel and find out when the next panel interviews will be, and that she will call me by the end of this week or early next week with a second interview date. Did anybody else hear anything similar? I am out of state and she said I would be having a video interview, and that it was fairly common that they do that. I am super nervous. I have never done a panel interview before. Does anybody have an experience they would like to share? Good luck all!
