MD Anderson Nurse Residency Summer 2020

Hi! Starting this thread for anyone else who plans on applying to the MD Anderson Summer 2020 cohort for their clinical nurse residency! I called this week to see when the application would open and they didn't give me any firm dates yet so still waiting on that

Thanks! Staying hopeful for everyone's sake. If things can calm down with covid sooner, than all the residency programs can get back on track.

I just got off the phone with MDA HR and they stated "the topic of Nurse Residency is not even a discussion anyone is having at this point in time". They basically stated that it is not a priority and they have no idea what they are going to do. So that was pretty discouraging. Just wanted to update yall.

Yeah I called them while ago and they told me the same thing before covid even hit the area or was on the news ? But maybe they will start in September because their is still time to interview etc with that start date

They said on the news that Texas is reopening next week so maybe MD Anderson will start the hiring process again soon? Wishing thinking haha but hopefully we can still have a chance!

Anybody apply to StaRN? They are still going to continue the residency process because they are emailing me and said they will start interviewing around May and June. Wish MD Anderson was like this

Which HR thing do you mean? I have an interview set up with HCA in May but didn’t hear of anything with them today.

Hmm okay. Did you already have an interview set up? Just trying to figure out who got that email!

Nope! Maybe that’s why. I got a call last week and told her my areas and she said they’ll call to set up something if a position opens before end of May, if not I’ll get a call early June for my other preferences.
