Has anyone heard back from MD Anderson for their GN Residency that begins on November 28, 2011. I had my interview with them October 31st and was told that that week would be the last week of interviews, so I figured they would have started making decisions by now. The start date for the residency is right around the corner so I was wondering if anyone has heard from them or has any updates on the situation? Thanks so much!

I interviewed with them too! I actually called yesterday and the recruiter told me that they are still reviewing all the applicants and that they should be contacting people next week. I really hope I get the job! I wish they could have told us if we got the job by now :/
Thanks for the update Cindyrella! I called an HR rep from nurse recruitment yesterday and she had no idea when they would be making decisions. I told her I had another offer that I needed to make a decision about, but that MD was my #1 choice and she said she would have one of the recruiters "reach out to me." Not exactly sure what that means, but I'm not too hopeful that I'll hear from a recruiter since it sounds like they are really busy right now.
I really want this job too! I can't believe the residency starts in two weeks. I'm not even from Houston, so two weeks doesn't give me very much time to make that move to Houston.
Hey OP, when I called the HR rep sounded like she knew what she was talking about... maybe other people have been calling as well and she got some information?? Where are you living currently?
I live in Houston and graduated in august. MDA is my #1 too :)
I hope to hear from them by monday so I have time to put in my 2 weeks notice at my current job. And yes I can't believe it starts in 2 weeks! It seems like this month is flying by.
I like that this residency starts way before all the other hospitals. I gotta pay bills! lol.
Good luck to you and I hope we both get good news! :) Keep me updated when you hear something.
I'm currently living in the DFW area, so I'm grateful that I'm not super far away. Luckily, I have a friend who lives right around TMC(she works at Memorial Hermann), who is the best and is going to let me live with her for the time being if I get the job, which is a huge blessing.
Waiting has been so hard. I'm trying to stay optimistic, without getting my hopes up since it is after all the best of the best when it comes to cancer hospitals.
It's crazy to think that we could possibly be starting this amazing residency in 2 weeks, eep, keeping my fingers crossed for the both of us! I will definitely let you know if I hear anything
So Monday has come and gone =( I was hoping today would be the day, but alas I didn't hear anything. Still no word?
Arg I was thinking the same thing! I haven't heard from them yet and neither has one of my friends who also interviewed with MDA. Waiting to hear from them is making me crazyyy! lol. I hope tomorrow is the day.
Seriously, what is going on? The start date is less than two weeks away. One of my friends also interviewed and is in the same position as the rest of us, so I guess they just haven't started contacting people yet? I'm glad I'm not the only one trying to stay sane waiting on them. We just got to stay strong together, haha
Yes I guess our only option is to stay strong lol. I think I will call again tomorrow and bug them haha. I wonder how many GN's they are hiring?
Haha let me know if HR is able to give you any kind of helpful information. The recruiter who I had my interview with told me they were hiring 30 new grads, but now that I'm thinking about it, 30 seems like an awful lot. However I wrote down 30 in my notes, so I'm preeeetty sure that's what she told me, which is really exciting!
I'm praying that we are one of the 30 new grads at MDA! I'll let you know if I hear anything helpful :)

Hey Everyone. I have been reading your blogs and thought I could be of some help. I am also a new grad who interviewed at MD and still waiting for a reply. I spoke to a recruiter who I have been in contact with since the beginning and she told me this. Last week they finished up the interviews and had a few meetings to select the candidates. They are running behind schedule and this leads me to believe they won't begin the program on November 28th. They still have to send out recommendations so I believe it will take a few more days and maybe into next week. This kills me cause I have turned down two job offers cause I have high hopes for MD. We just have to hope for the best cause I know our offers will come through. Best wishes to everyone!
