Cia - *Unlike the ASBN program, the NP programs of course have to find and set up their own clinical sites.

OH my gosh of course, and I knew that, too!!

Hope you guys all find AMAZING preceptors to work with!! :D

I'm so nervous about finding preceptors and a new job before January ......ugghhh. I love the pressure....lol

Woohoo!!

I get my second PPD done next week then that part is all done! Talked to financial aid today and will have it all set by the end of the week! This is getting so exciting, about 5.5 more weeks until orientation after this week!!!!!

I just did the promissory note and faxed in the authorization form. Do we actually need to talk to financial aid? I was a little concerned since the financial aid won't fully cover our 9 credit semester but that isn't until next year.

Hello! I haven't started any of this stuff yet because I just sent in my deposit. That sounds concerning that financial aid doesn't cover the cost of the program?! I thought for sure it would (with Stanford loans and such)?

Well I got a 20,500 Stafford loan for the year which is distributed in 3 equal payments of 6500. The 9 credit semesters come to overify 7000 before books. I'm sure there are other loans or you can save the extra from the less credit semesters. Also, they don't pay out the remainder of the 6500 that covers books and such until after add/drop so you may need a credit card to buy those and wait to pay them. I'm hoping I am all set with the FA but now I may call to double check. I just finished searching for my childhood immunization papers. Found them after an hour. Good luck sweetdee. Going to be a crazy few weeks.

Sla - You should be fine that you didn't talk to them, no worries. I just did because I haven't received my email yet, but that is because they didn't have my social security number. Now that they do, I'll be able to get all my info and paperwork so I can fax the form and get everything taken care of lol. She said I also will get the 20,500 stafford loan for the year, so that's good. Everyone should be totally fine.

Dee - Exactly what Sla said! Also, when I talked to financial aid she said it ended up only being $200 extra out of pocket for the semester that is 9 credits, etc. So apparently she said it won't be a huge deal.

I get all my college books online through a rental site, so it's WAY cheaper than buying. Only time I have ever had to pay a little more is if the rental sites didn't have the particular book I needed (which only happened once or twice ever). You can save hundreds of dollars this way. We should be getting our username and password anytime now since we are so close to orientation!!!! Ahhh so over excited!
