MCPHS absn spring 2018

Published

Hi!

I applied for the mcphs absn program at Worcester and was wondering who else applied out there. Did anyone hear back yet?

Hey has anyone looked into getting books yet? I just started looking and some of these classes say that there's 6 books required for a class seems like a lot for one class. Has anyone looked into this?

Specializes in Postpartum.

I got in but for summer 2018 and I'm extremely worried about housing...I have a job now but won't have enough saved by then and i can't work during NS and my parents can't afford to pay for an apartment for me. I'm scared to submit my deposit for this reason because what if I end up homeless while going to NS??

Hi Sanis can you please update us about the program so far?

How is it? Is it doable?

Thank you

@CiaMia, the site won't let me send you a PM since I'm new, I just applied to the Manchester campus and I had some questions for you if that would be ok!!

Specializes in Neuro/NSGY, critical care, med/stroke/tele.

Of course, let me see if I can send you one!

Just sent you one!

Thank you for responding! I got your PM but the site won't let me respond, it says I need 15 quality posts before I can use the PM services. This is what I was going to message you:

Thank you so much! I just applied today, so I think it will be a little bit before I get a response and I'm really anxious! But I was wondering if you could give me some general information, I'm sorry if it's a little lengthy.

Do you know about how many people the program accepts each semester?

How are the courses/clinicals are set up? I'm not sure how it all works in the accelerated program. I'm not from the area but I wanted to maybe do my clinicals at Elliot if that were an option if I did end up getting accepted, I have some friends that work there!

Do you think that with how time consuming and hard the class work is that having a job while a student will work? I'm not sure how to pay for rent/food/parking/etc. without a job or if loans cover that stuff too.

Did you have any problems with living in the Manchester? I want to live downtown so that I can walk to campus but am worried about the safety of the city, especially at night.
