Hey everyone:)
I have a few questions to ask about MCC. I was trying to see about what type of gpa's get into the bridging and generic ADN program. I plan on applying the to thespring program and I was trying to see if I even had a chance. My gpa is 3.45 for the classes that pertain to the program. Also can anyone tell me a little about the program? I plan on applying to both because I am a lvn. Thanks in advance.

I am a fourth semester student at MCC and received my LVN after semester 2. The main asset that you're going to have getting into the program is your testing scores on the NET and your GPA. Your GPA sounds great. You must have all your pre-reqs completed. You will start third semester which is the most intense at MCC so you have to go into the program with your guns blazing. It's a great school now that we have new management with Mrs. Allen as interim director. You can email me at [email protected] with specific questions
Thanks alot for the information:) I plan on applying for both programs this Spring. I will be emailing you with a few questions in the near future.

I'm currently a pre-nursing student at MCC. I spoke with the assistant in the ADN office the other day and found out some interesting facts. First of all, MCC is no longer giving the NET for the entrance exam into the program. They have switched to the HESI A2. I also asked her what my GPA needed to be in order to be competitive in the application process, and she said that a cumulative (i.e. all courses, not just science) GPA of at least 3.4 will usually get you into the program. Hope this helps. :) FYI, this info is only pertaining to the regular ADN program. I don't know anything about the LVN-RN bridge.
The criteria is the same for LVN-RN bridge.

Oh my gosh...I am about to die!! I applied for the Spring Bridge and am currently in a "pending" status. I am still doing pre-reqs, and I have to submit my grades by no later than December 11 in order for them to determine if I will get in. My GPA is 3.69 as it is now. It will be 3.84 after I do my finals. (I would have to get an F to make less than an A) I hope I make it in. There are only 13 spots and so many applicants! The bridging course starts on the 15th of December, and the letter says I won't even find OUT if I am accepted until the week of the 14th of December! I am soooo nervous that the time is so short! Any ideas about what could be going on here?

I got into MCC for the Spring 2009 semester, but I did not accept the offer. Why?! Because I'm nuts. But, really, it was because of family reasons. My GPA was a 3.2 when I got accepted. But I have a Bachelors of Art in Psychology already (with nursing school pre-reqs, of course), and I scored high on the NET (back when that's what they accepted). I'm glad that they have changed to the HESI because most schools are requesting that exam over the NET.
Good luck to you!! Don't give up because I haven't. I've been trying to get in SOMEWHERE for 3 years, and MCC has been the only place so far!!
Okay everyone!! I GOT IN!!! There were a BUNCH of applicants, someone said around 150 this semester. I had a GPA of 3.8 (gave me 38 points) 2 points for A's in first sciences. (NO points are given for Micro!) and a point for being a local resident. That gave me a total of 41 points. For the BRIDGE competitive was around 38-44 points. I had a dear friend who had 37 points and was declined. If your GPA is below 3.8 I HIGHLY recommend that you take some classes to increase your GPA or simply apply to the full program. There were 15 spots available in this semester's bridge class, and with that many applicants the higher your GPA the better! Do whatever it takes to raise it! I got my letter handed to me personally on Friday, and classes start on Tuesday. That's how long it took them to make a final decision! Good luck to you in your efforts to follow your dreams. Never give up!
Sorry I am just now responding didn't really look at this thread since I did not end up applying afterall...Congrats to everyone who got in that applied:)
