I thought it would be a good idea to start a new thread for those of us starting the program in August!
just wanted to let all you August starts who haven't had your titers yet know that I went to St. Clair Health Dept today to get mine done along with the Hep B shot and the prices that were listed on that paper that came with our packet are all wrong. That is a price list from 2007. They are still considerably less on the titers -they charged me $65.00 but the Hep B shot was $75.00!!!! It is cheaper a lot of other places. So just to let you all know. How is everyone doing? Getting excited? I know I am. Except worried about books since I can't get my loan money until August 14 and class starts August 16th..... And the amount of the loan they gave me only covers my classes. Now wondering what to do for the $1,000 for books and supplies......any suggestions?

I am worried about that too. I took an extra class so I'd be at 12 credits to get the full amount from my Stafford loan but still had to get an additional loan thru Fannie Mae to cover the books, scrubs and a few other things. It's called the Smart Option Loan, I applied online and now am just waiting for the school to verify that I am enrolled.
Is it fannie mae or sallie mae? THey told me that I needed a co-signer and I don't have one. So i'm kinda screwed.
Sorry, I meant Sallie Mae. I did have to have a cosigner for my loan, all the student loans that I looked at needed a cosigner. What about a personal loan at a bank or credit union? I looked into that also and the interest rate wasn't much different from the Sallie Mae.

If you take a look at the sections, some are in different buildings than one another for MTW.
