Hi everyone! I'll be graduating May of 2018 and got a job offer at Mayo Clinic, Rochester! I thought I would start a thread for all who are thinking of applying to Mayo Clinic and will be graduating in the spring or if you already got hired, you are welcome to share any thoughts on how to land a job there! Even though it is far away, I would like to start looking for potential roommates as well! :)

Thank you! I applied to a lot of positions daily so I ended up getting a call back maybe a few weeks after I applied! I would start applying again to new positions as they open up everyday and just keep on applying to various positions till they call you back! That's what I did. I was persistent! And I actually attend school out of state in Ohio so I'm in your boat as well. I did not submit any letters of recommendation, just simply my resume and attached a scan copy of my BLS card! :)

Ill be on hematologic cancer care! :) and thanks so much! what unit will you be on??

That's so exciting! Bone marrow transplant/hematology! You're gonna have to tell me all about it! í ½í¸Ší ½í¸Š

Update! I have an interview at the end of January. For those of you that have been offered positions, were they full time positions? I had trouble finding postings for full time hours. Almost everything says part time 64-72 hours. Is this accurate or is there wiggle room for being offered a full time position?

64-72 hours is considered full time for nurses! So you'd be eligible for benefits! And I'm sure you can always pick up shifts once you start working!

Okay! The position I have an interview for said part time 64 hours so that's what made me unsure. They have multiple postings for this unit so I'm hopeful that means they'll hire for full time!

And it says 8 hours shifts. Womp Womp. I'd prefer 12 hour shifts. What were you offered?

Yup 64 hours is definitely considered full time for nurses but maybe part time for other professions even though the website says part time. You'll get the same benefits as a full time employee which is nice. And yes mine was 64 hours as well. Most people are usually hired either 64 or 72 I believe.

Hi everyone! Congratulations on those who received job offers and interviews at Mayo Clinic in Rochester, MN! I have an interview coming up in February and am very excited, but extremely nervous about it. Any tips? Advice? What others' interview experience was like?

Hello!

I think what helped me most is I had my resume printed and in front of me and also notes of patient experiences that I had. I had my interview over Skype, but I found for this to be the most helpful. Also look into behavioral based questions!! Good luck and let us know how it goes :)

Hi, seahorse5! Thanks for your advice! Ok, great because I will also be doing my interview over skype and was curious to know if I could have my papers out :) How about clinical/triage related questions? Also, for your skype interview, did you ahve to go through greentech check or something like that?
