~~go nursing~~

I just put everything it asked for, to be on the safe side. It didn't state that was it was needed on the program page though, which is why the resume and cover letter caught me by surprise.

OH MY GOSH! Tell me about it. It was quite frustrating that they didn't put those things in the description. I know people that applied last year and a resume and cover letter were not a requirement. SO I didn't even think about it.

I applied Friday and hit the resume block. I spent that night, the next day, and Sunday morning trying to make it perfect, getting ideas from people and writing, and rewriting. Then I went to apply on Sunday about 5 PM AST and I saw I needed a cover letter so I spent the next few hours on that. I wanted it to be perfect. Agagin I wanted others to read it.

That was so stressful, especially since I started so eraly with the essays. I can't wait until we are notified. I can either prepare or move on.

Every time I think about getting the letter, I get so nervous! I feel like I'm waiting for my nursing school acceptance letter all over again!!

I hear ya!

They take everyone that's below a 3.85 out of the pool?! lol That's so intense. I think that's odd because people come from different Nursing schools with different difficulty levels. Oh well, I'm gonna call tomorrow. All I do these days is think about this >.<. i wish they just tell us already. plus also said take a look at the applications as come in starting october and make decision end of this month---who knows how do it. you know anyone who been accepted past don personally.>

I'm more nervous for this than I was for Nursing school ahh! I was so much more confident for nursing school!

_ac_, I'm in the same boat as you regarding the GPA. People from my school have attended the program since 2007, but I don't know who. If I did, I was gonna ask them about their secrets. What areas did you put an interest in?

I definitely agree with that comparison of nursing school acceptance and this program.

Where do you go to school!? I put pediatrics, operating room, general surgery, general medical as my top ones I think. I honestly don't care what i get...haha as long as i get into the program.

I'm in Northern California at a Cal State.

I put high interest in pretty much everything but general medicine where I put some interest. I'm with you in just getting into the program and no caring where I'm placed.

I'm at UW-Madison in Madison, Wisconsin...I wish I was in California where it isn't 3 degrees haha. If only these few weeks would go by quickly. I just want to know...in or not.

I know two people that were in it last summer. They both were offered jobs at Mayo and are working there now. They both had a GPA of 4.0. One of them was talking to one of the women in charge and she stated they throw out anything below 3.85.

The main reason I applied is because how much my friend talked it up. And that is why I spent so much time on the essays.

ayassin23 please report back what you hear tomorrow when you call.

I spent a crazy amount of time on the essays as well! Plus, I have volunteered in hospitals in Egypt and was born in Egypt so maybe that'll help :D I have a 4.0 Nursing GPA but my Cumulative is a 3.5. I'll let you guys know what they tell me tomorrow!

I was told they only look at the nursing GPA. So with a 4.0 you are golden.

Yeah I spent 18 months traveling in Africa and Asia and I volunteered in Malawi in East Africa. Plus they like diversity so I worked into my essays how I have traveled to over 70 countries and lived on 4 continents.
