Hello! I wanted to create this post to communicate with others that are applying for Mayo Clinic's Summer iii externship. I saw that there were similar posts for previous years, and I would love to get to know others that are applying! Look forward to hearing from you all ?

Congrats to everyone moving forward! How exciting! I got my email today also and I can’t wait to see who’s selected. What preferences are y’all really wanting? I’m REALLY wanting Pediatric ICU. I currently work in pediatric trauma ICU and have worked in adult CVICU for a couple of years. Seems like ICU is definitely where everyone wants to be.

I already followed ur insta on my nursing/fitness account @kaylbfit I’m dead. But congrats! Maybe we’ll be at mayo together! I would take a placement literally anywhere. No idea where i wanna specialize.

Hi everyone! New to Allnurses and new to this thread. My friend from school told me about this thread since we both applied to the Mayo externship 2020. Happy to say that I received an email informing me that I moved to the next round!

I look forward to getting to know more about you all and hearing about who all gets in!

Did anyone else not hear anything? Maybe they just didn’t send out rejection emails yet lol

@NursinggSchool101 I also have not heard anything yet. My application status still says under review. I emailed an HR recruiter about acceptance and rejections emails. She said that they are "currently reviewing applications, and we should be connecting with all candidates by mid-February". It isn't much info, but that's all I know right now. I don't know how their selection process works. Stay hopeful!

I called yesterday and they told me that this year they received 1200 applications. They told me they will take between 50-55 externs this year but would not tell me how many people made it past the first round.
