I know that Shands is not going to be hiring much this summer. They are closing a unit for remodeling so they will have an entire floor floating around. Mayo is so hard to get into. You usually have to know someone to get in there. We have a bunch of hospitals around Jacksonville. What part of town are you in?
I would simply get my foot in the door of any hospital here first and then work on transitioning to Shands or Mayo. There are lots of hospitals here.... although you mention you're in Cleveland, where do you want to be in Jax? Jax is a LARGE city geographically and you may want to take commuting (cost of gas....traffic is a joke) into consideration.

What floor is this? I work at Shands and our unit is actively interviewing/hiring for nurses. We dont have many positions available, but we've hired two nurses in the past two months.

Hey guys, I am possibly relocating to Jacksonville and applied for several positions at Mayo Clinic and Shands (really want mayo) but I have not heard a peep from either organization. I applied 2-3 weeks ago, does anyone know how long it may take to hear from them. I have alot of experience and think I at least deserve an interview
