Mayo Clinic Nursing Externship 2015

Hello! I havent seen a thread yet for students applying to the 2015 extersnhip at Mayo Clinic so I thought I would start one and see if there is anyone out there who is in the same boat as me!

My name is Kayla and I am student from OHSU (Oregon Health and Science University). I submitted my application today and I am excited but so nervous, even more so than when I applied to nursing school! I hope to meet a few other students who are going through the process too!

How many alternates do they choose?

The most I've heard is 5. I want to call and ask but I'm too scared!

I'm too scared to ask also. I wish they would tell us what number on the alternate list we are.

Did you also get the rejection/invitation to apply email? I had a total of five e-mails yesterday from Summer III, and one to mention there was a system error... wasn't sure if all the alternates got those or not.

Yes I did receive some weird emails yesterday too. One saying I was an alternate for the summer 2013 externship lol. Finally the last one said alternate for 2015. Thanks for letting us know what she says!

I only got one that said summer 2013 externship, then summer 2015 externship.

Did you find out how many people are placed on the alternate list? I emailed to ask what position on the alternate list I was and they wouldn't tell me.

Hi :) I asked and there are 25 applicants on the alternate list. Every year around 5-10 people are chosen from the alternate list for the internship. There is no ranking, which I do no quite understand, but that's is all the information I have. Hope it helps.

Hey guys! Has anyone heard back about whether not they received a placement?! Today is Presidents' Day so no mail will be coming... So, crossing my fingers it's email!
