  1. Please share any interview questions for an experienced ICU nurse! I'm going to have an interview in the next week for a few ICU positions. Also any tips and what I need to bring would greatly be appreciated! So far I'm going to bring my certifications and licenses. Maybe a few other things. Thank you in advance.
  2. Hello. Something recently happened at work and it has been really hard for me to get past this. Before I start, management has been amazing and did everything they could for me after the incident. I work in an ICU and was helping a patient (not mine) with the primary nurse and the patient physically assaulted me and then threatened to rape me. Now this is not the first time that I have been physically assaulted, mentally, emotionally, or verbally abused but this was the first time a patient threatened to rape me. I can't even explain how that threat makes me feel. The police got involved after but no charges were placed due to the patient's condition. People say I shouldn't listen to his words but I just can't get past this. Anyone ever been in a similar situation?
  3. Hi. I have a PICU interview in two weeks and I don't know if I should bring any recommendation letters. They told me that I didn't need to bring anything because they have my resume but I don't know if it's better to have recommendation letters ready just in case since they never asked for references. Also any tips for PICU interviews will be greatly appreciated.
  4. Hello. I'm planning to move out of state after my residency and I'm wondering what month I should start applying to hospitals for a job. My residency will end in July, which will give me a little over a year of experience. Thank you in advance.

Best CCRN Test Prep Book for 2018

Hello guys. I'm wondering what the best CCRN test prep book for 2018 is so I can purchase it and start preparing! I know that there are multiple forums but I want to find the most up-to-date prep.
  6. Hello all, I want to apply to CRNA school and I know that I need to take a higher level chemistry course than intro to chem, which is what our program required. I'm wondering if it is doable to take a night course in the spring. I should be switching to night shift in the next month or two and I'm a new grad nurse.

  8. Hello all. I was wondering if there is a nursing path to specialize in infectious diseases, similar to what infectious disease specialists (MDs) do. I'm not talking about infection control nursing. I'm talking about diagnosing and treating the infections that are not commonly treated by primary healthcare providers. Thank you in advance.

GPA for Applying to NP School

So for my pre-requisite courses I had a perfect 4.0. However, when I got into nursing school, I became pretty much a straight B student. Although my overall GPA is above a 3.5, my nursing school GPA is just above a 3.0. Do I even have a chance of getting into a good NP school? Do they rely heavily on the GPA? Do they look at the overall GPA or just the nursing school GPA? Thank you in advance for your help.
  10. Hello all. I'm a new grad and I'm about to start working in the ICU at a large hospital (Still don't know which one. We rotate through all of them before finding our "home"). I'm wondering if anybody has any tips or resources they recommend! :) Thank you. I know that starting in the ICU is a major learning curve and I just want to be as prepared as I possibly can.

Is it worth buying U World if my NCLEX exam is next week?

    RN NCLEX
  13. I was wondering if it's worth the $79 if I only have a few days to use it. I currently are using saunders questions (6th edition green book with website access) and hurst review. Thanks in advance

Which questions are closer to the NCLEX?

Hello. I'm trying to prepare for the NCLEX, which I will be taking soon, and I was wondering which question bank I should use to study. I have access to Hurst review questions and the Saunders Q&A review 6th edition online (that's the green book). My test is too close to buy U world and get the full benefit of it so I have to choose between these two. Thanks in advance.
