Mayo Clinic AZ Nurse Residency Program- Feb 2024

Nurses Residency

Published

Hi, just wanted to start a thread for the Feb 2024 new grad nurse residency program!

They are doing things differently than in the past this intake period. It will be the unit managers themselves conducting interviews.

Did they give you any idea of the timeline?

Hey all! I just got a call yesterday that I can go in next week for a secondary in person interview for the PCU. My top choice was ED. I'm curious if they allow new grads in the ED or what areas others have received their second interviews for?

In order to work in the ED or ICU, they want you to have done your preceptorship or externship in those areas.

I have work experience in both thats why I was just wondering. I know PCU is good for learning the foundation of the ICU, I was just curious what other units other people had received their second interview for

I haven't heard anything. Anyone else hear anything?

Haven't heard anything either. I know some units have been doing secondary interviews, not sure about ED, which was my first choice. I had my preceptorship in the ED so I am qualified, but IDK if they just didn't select me or haven't reached out to anyone for that unit yet. Application still says "under consideration". Has anyone had a secondary interview for ED?

I haven't heard about a second interview yet, but I'm still "under consideration" and I put ED/ICU as my first choice as well and had my transition to practice in ED and ICU. I heard they had a really large amount of applicants this time around, so they are probably taking their time going through each application.

How did the interview go?

Hey folks, just checking for updates. Has everyone heard back from Mayo with interviews already? Applied to ICU and still "under consideration" :(

Hey! I applied for ICU/ED and am still "under consideration" as well. ? But I heard from a friend that attended the Zoom and she mentioned they were going to reach out sometime in January for specific units.

Hey guys! It was my understanding that they had wrapped up interviews for all departments back in the end of November and beginning of December time. I had gone in for an interview and while waiting to hear back the department head I met with mentioned that all departments had to make their selections by the end of that week. Could be wrong or misunderstood the conversation but just wanted to pass along what I had heard as well.
