Hey guys!

How about we start a Spring 2008 graduates thread? I noticed the 2007 class had a thread on this so I thought it might be fun to start ours.

When do you plan to take the NCLEX?

Will you work before you take the boards?

Have you started applying for jobs?

Where do you plan to work? Unit and shift?

What gift would you like to give urself?

Here I go...

I graduate in June and plan to take the boards in August

I will not work while studying for the boards. I have a friend who started in the MICU before taking the boards, and 2 months later she still does not feel ready to take it:o

I planned on applying in January, but I think I might start now since UCLA has now created a wait list for new grads:uhoh3:

I plan to work in a MICU, noc shift

Gift? I would like a puppy. I always wanted one

Now, Spring class of 2008 tell us what your plans are! 1, 2, 3, GO...

Specializes in Psychiatric, MICA.

Thanks for the boost, Travel Soon. I have all the anxiety I expect is common to the situation, but I also know the process will continue forward despite my feelings, so I continue to do questions and review the book. If nothing else, I find that the refresher on topics two and three semesters old leaves me feeling more confident in the new job...:).

Just stay calm and confident, you can and will do just fine. This is what you want so it is worth it. Good Luck Darrell

Graduated May 30th, NCLEX scheduled for July 12th. I am working full time as a GN and studying by doing a Kaplan review and 25-150 questions per day. During the final week or so I expect to do 265-question exams.

The day before the exam and of the the exam I will let it go and focus on being in a healthy and rested condition.

I have kind of been doing the same thing. I take mine next Monday the 7th, and I have 79% of Kaplan completed, plan to do my Question Trainer 7 on Saturday and I will be done with studying after that. I got a hotel room down by my testing site and I plan to relax in the waterpark they have there! Good luck! I also agree with the post about positive thinking--I think it influences you greatly and I KNOW I am going to GO IN THERE AND PASS THIS BIOTCH!!! Lol! :D I have also been working as a GN; I will keep you in my thoughts and prayers!!
