Hi There,

looking for information, I am 41 years young! I have worked in the care profession for many years, ii have always wanted to go into nursing buy always to scared to take the plunge!!

does any 1 think 41 is to old to start a nursing career?

I'm 45 and have been an RN since May 2013. I was an LPN from 2008 on. I'm currently doing my RN to BSN program.

Nope...41 isn't too old :)

I was born in 1944 and just finished my pre reqs you do the math I'm busy trying to get into an RN program

I'm 51 and will finish in May, take my NCLEX and hopefully be employed and starting my BSN by the time I turn 52 next August! I am the oldest in my class by a couple years, which was kinda weird at first, but that was all in my own head because I've made some great friends!

I wonder if there is any bias against hiring older nurses. Since this is a physically demanding job, I wonder if employers prefer to hire the younger folks. Any thoughts?
