Hello ALLNURSES i am a first year student I am having major second thoughts and I need honest non sarcastic answers I'm sure all of you working Nurses have been in this place to tell the truth ( no disrespect intended ) my second thoughts do not come because of the program or from clinicals everything is fine there I'm doing well my concern is about my future as a Nurse I am a positive thinking person and happy in my choice of career ( very sorry about the lack of punctuation don't want to lose my thoughts ) my honest from from the heart question is Why do I read so much negativity here on ALNURSES? Please no bashing me for this question this is very imporyant to me and may very well affect my future as a Nurse thanking you in advance BE KIND TO EACH OTHER WE ARE ALL WE HAVE

What are your views on male nurses
when i tell friends i want to be a nurse they ask me if i'm going to be a male nurse i just say yes i have never described myself as wanting to be a male nurse So give us a break i believe the only reason an individual would describe himself as a male nurse HERE is because you cant see that we are male or not ***

Best quality care cannot be provided
a lot of talk about this problem going on here WHAT IS THE ANSWER How many people have died because of all this BS from administration *** How can Nurses as a group address this issue to someone who can solve it and make the money grubbers see lives are in danger does money really make administration blind I HAVE A SOLUTION require all administration to be an RN in order to work in administration also require administration (who would be required to be an RN ) to do bedside 8 hours a month

The "increase minimum wage" issue.
how do you hold anyone accountable for their job when lying and sneaking around with deals behind the public eye is a built in part of the the good old boy system ,we cant change anything and they know it, you say hold them accountable ok lets do it tell me how , show me the way please . ( not meant to be sarcastic )

So you think you want to be a NURSE
as you may have noticed i said for me that i thought it was the best advice i could give from my own experience ,because i get to see first hand what nurses do on a minute by minute basis and how difficult the job actually is. i have much respect for nurses and the nursing profession I do not mean to offend you or anyone else .i will still say being a CNA and working with Nurses every day is a great learning experience for me as i would have not been able to see and do patient care in the real world not the text book world and i still for me being a CNA is the best route on my way to nursing

Is an associates degree in nursing a waste of time?
Nothing you do to pursue an education in what you truly believe in is a waste of time

Why are preceptors negative towards nurses they are teaching?
I want to thank Nursy1,Rn for asking this question I am amazed at all the answers and opinions I am a CNA waiting to enter a NURSING program and all of this is like a giant class room lecture and has opened my eyes to various ways of seeing and thinking in regards to this type of nursing experience my first reaction to some answers was that these people have no heart and no sympathy then I realized that the comments were from the heart and is the Nurse version of tough love

Prayers and condolences to all of you

So you think you want to be a NURSE
I have not said RN and CNA are the same thing I understand that just like a laborer and heavy equipment operator are not the same thing but they both work on the same team for the same cause and the operator could not do his job if the laborer didn't do his
