reading throughout this fourm i see many say the math was easy. for those that have taken the exam, what type of measurements in the math section should i concentrate on? im really not good at math period so im really doing all the practice tests i can.
and the only measurements i know off the top of my head are 12in=1 foot, 3ft= 1yd, and 8 cups= 1 ounce.
also worried about the word problems.

A lot of problems were conversions. Granted I took the test almost 3 years ago, but I don't really remember any difficult word problems. I would know metric to metric conversions (based on system of 10's, just move the decimal place... i.e. 1 L=1000mL), metric to customary conversions ( i.e. 1 in=2.54cm, 1kg=2.2lbs, 1oz=30mL), customary to customary conversions ( i.e. 1 ft=12 in, 1 Gal=4 qts, 1lb=16 oz, 1 ton=2000lbs, etc.), Fahrenheit temperature to Celsius, Roman numerals, & military time. I did not list all the conversion factors you need to know here, but you can find them all on the internet.
Obviously, also know addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, fractions, and decimals.
I can't remember what else was on it, but that's a start. I just memorized the conversion factors and practiced a few fraction problems the night before, and I made a 100 on the math portion. Good luck!

I just took mine on Thursday and passed with a 98 in math. Like mentioned above, know your addition, subtraction, fractions, and decimals but a lot of this is easy because of the built in calculator that you're allowed to use. There was a lot of fraction work, and a couple of military time questions. There were quite a few conversion question and they were using metric or converting from U.S. to metric. Also had a lot of the 10:1::20:X type questions, so make sure you know that. Hope that helps!!
thanks for feedback. yeah ive been relearning proportions type problems.also i was just doing the basic adding, subtracting, multiplying, diving by hand in the practice books, since i don't know if we were gonna have a calculator.
for the ones that took it; is the math section a combo of fill in the blank and multiple choice? or just multiple the choice?
Mine had a combination of multiple choice and fill in the blank. That threw me at first because I was under the impression that it was all multiple choice!

I have to retake mine since its been a few years and the new requirements at my school to apply is it can only be within the last year. I barely studied when I took back when and I think I ended up with a 76 in the math portion. I do know I had a lot of ratios, military time and conversions. I am hoping to do a lot better now that I am an LVN and have had the schooling and experience. I am wanting to bridge so I have to retake. I would suggest to anyone taking it study what Shorty11 or Brookelin mentioned. I've always been bad in math so I plan to really focus only on this section.
