Massasoit Students...?s!

Published

Hey there!

I'm currently enrolled at CCRI completing the prerequisites for the Nursing Program. They are essentially the same as the prereqs for Massasoit. It seems like it would be much easier to gain acceptance to MCC than CCRI-where I may have to wait for a year after completing my prereqs before I can even apply (due to the once a year application process and since you must have completed the prereqs just to apply)!

For those of you who attend MCC, were you able to transfer any courses from other colleges? I will have Anatomy, Physiology (all taken 2008-9), General Psych, Developmental Psych, English Comp, and Int to Sociology. I'd hate to have to take everything over again.

Also, I see the application deadline is February 1st. How soon after applying are you notified of acceptance/rejection? Thanks in advance for any advice.

Thank you guys. Best wishes to you too.

Lets keep each other updated on our applications :bdyhdclp:

Absolutely! I would be so happy to wind up in class with you ladies. I'm a stay at home mom of one, so I know how difficult school can be while married and with a family and/or working. GL again!

I just came back from taking the Admissions test.

I was sitting in the very last row in the exam room and there were talking and yelling out of people's names and the printer was constantly printing out exam results.

i felt horrible I could'nt concentrate at all. Enlish is my second language and I didnt know what some the words meant , I just had to make an educational geuss with some of those questions and by the end of the exam I thought I flunked it. it took me 40 min.

I looked at the screen and my score was 98/120 and 77.5 percentile. I have no idea what that means, but I was told it was good. I prayed and asked for the Lords help before taking the exam and I know He was with me all the way.

I still have to give my application to the school. I just need to finish up my essay (another headache :thnkg:)

Congratulations!! Was it just the reading comprehension? All you need on the NEAT is a 75 or above at MCC. You're one step closer!!

Yep that was it, just the reading comprehension, 20 questions. There were some tricky questions I had to reread 1,because they were tricky and 2 because people were yelling behind me:hdvwl:. There were also a couple of people who came in late and werent allowed to take the exam.

So get there early.

Thanks for the tip. I keep reminding myself to get the money order before I forget. Did you take A&P II with Prof Johnson this past semester?

Hey Purpose! I was in the last row today as well. I was the first one to leave. I ended up with a score of 109. I thought some of the questions were pretty tricky too. dknyb, definitely get there early! I wish I had been able to get a seat in the front, it was tough to hear the instructions.

Well, I hope I do as well on the 30th. That's great. Do either or you feel that you could have studied for this?

I went online did some reading comprehension quizes, and I also have the Net test book that I used. Let us know how you did in this exam.

I went to testprepreview.com and did the Accuplacer and TEAS practice. This is the third reading comphrehension test I've taken this year! :D I haven't done any pre-reqs at MCC, I've been studying at Community College of RI. They have a waiting list and only 9-10 students get in on performance based applications a semester...so I figured I'd try MCC. It seems like a really great program, but there were an awful lot of people there today!
