Massasoit Community College Fall 2021

Published

Hello,

I wanted to create this thread for folks who have applied to Massasoit Community College’s Nursing program for the Fall 2021 semester. How are things going for everyone?

Current and former students, do you have any feedback on this program for prospective students?

Thank you!

Good luck with the TEAS. My application is actually complete so the waiting begins...I hear they accept more students for the evening part-time program so I am optimistic but my rubric score is a 57. I got an 84 on the TEAS but am considering re-taking it to score higher in science but I fear I won't get a 90 or better to get the extra points in that section...

Thanks for creating the Fall 2021 thread.  Can't wait for the decision letters to be sent in April.

When I attended the information session they said April will be desicions, however I spoke with two different people from Admissions and they said May! :( I am really hoping that its April.

I know it was delayed last year because of covid and securing clinicals.  It shouldn't take that long this year because they don't need to read through essays.  Hopefully we find out in April!

We had a personal statement but did not need references and this was a few years back.  Acceptances were sent out mid to late April.

Securing clinical was always an issue. (Not the fault of the school) Hospitals, psych facilities, nursing homes, Pediatric skilled nursing care, etc depended on instructors, number of students, etc..

If anyone is put on a wait list, I suggest making an appointment with the admissions office to review your rubric.  Believe me when I say they aren't perfect and occasionally make mistakes. (Miss a grade, or class) and that really affects your place on the wait list. I know this from personal experience.  I was #10 on it and was going to give up.  I just happened to have a day off and went down to discuss it.  When they pulled up my application, they realized they missed 2 classes on my transcript that I had gotten an A in.  It shot me to #1 on the list.  They were extremely nice and very apologetic as they go through each app by hand.- Don't give up!

Wow this is good advice! Thank you.

I also spoke to admissions who said decisions would be sent out in June!

Wishing you all the very best.  I miss MCC, had a great cohort and actually miss school.  Teachers and Deans have changed in the past few years from what I have heard but hopefully you all enjoy it!

I applied for readmission for Fall of 2021 in the FT Day program. We need a 78% minimum grade in each nursing course to move along in the program. In 2020, I didn't hear back from Massasoit until June. Hopefully it's sooner this year. I am hoping for readmission into Massasoit, but I have been accepted into Cape Cod Community College for Fall ASN fortunately.

Fingers crossed for readmission.  I am sure you will get in.  I know 2 people that were able to readmit.  They want to give you that chance.

Best of luck!

Thank you so much ??

I applied! I’m nervous with the rubric. I spent a while trying to test out of math, then realized I should have just taken the class- I missed out on 3-4 easy points. I was in the FT nursing program on Maui but had to withdraw on medical with my twins. It’s been 7 years, and I’m keeping my fingers crossed!

Hoping you get in! I heard they’re sending out acceptances at the beginning of April. Massasoit doesn’t send out waitlist applicants or rejections until after that.

They told me June but maybe its because Im applying to part-time for LPN to RN???? Beginning  of April sounds better though :)
